Rotors Suggestion

I've got the stock rotors on both the front and back. I want to upgrade but not break the bank. Any suggestions?

I've heard good things about Brakemotive.

On my '00 I ran a set of Baer Eradispeeds, one piece. Held up very well.

If you are just looking to upgrade the rotors and not do an all-out rotors and big caliper upgrade there are better quality rotors available. Try looking up Brakemotive, they sell on fleabay. Zinc plated drilled qnd slotted rotors made from better than stock rotor castings.

This, I have them on three of our four cars.

Another option is Centric high carbon rotors.

I agree with the brakemotive recommendations. I just changed out my brakemotive rotors and pads and replaced with the same. I had 100,000 miles on the previous set. Excellent bang for the buck at less than $200 for everything.

One thing to note is spraying brake cleaner on these rotors affects the finish. I had to paint the top hats after I did that on my first set.

if you want it to stop better you would be better off switching pads before rotors

Another vote for brakemotive...for a street car. I'm not doing any HPDEs. Mine still look new after a year.

BrakeMotive.... bang for the buck. Stopping power and low dust. ....and no rust while driving in rain two to three times a week.

You talked about brake upgrade, do you mean you want them to appear better or stop better. If you want appearance, then zinc plated rotors are the direction you need, for bling go drilled and slotted. For performance you can add the zinc plated rotors with or without being slotted or any solid or slotted rotor and better pads. For many they do not want to have the problems with metallic brake dust so they will get a good ceramic brake pad like the Carbotech AX6.

Stop-Tech slotted and cryo treated with Hawk blue pads and stainless lines - big improvement - but the pads are dusty...

Do you recall what the extra cost was for the cryogenic treating of the rotors?

How do the brake motive compare to stock z06 rotors or basic stoptech drilled and slotted ones. To me, they look like cheap china junk that might warp in a few months. Maybe I am wrong.

Thanks. Brake Motive zink coated rotors with the ceramic pads. My calipers are powder coated. They're from TPS Motorsports. Rebuilt and powder coated for $350+/- plus your cores. Their Candy Red matches my Magnetic Red perfectly. They have lots of other colors too.

I agree but a lot of people don't drive their cars very hard so they can get away with the cheaper stuff

I used BrakeMotive (ebay). Very pleased with them.
