Any experts on the Rostra cruise control ?

I just installed a cruise control from Dakota Digital on Thursday. I'm troubleshooting a random disengage issue, and it did a lot better after connecting the speed sensor ground directly to the main servo ground. But I did still get one uncommanded disengagement while I had it set at the slowest speed it'll engage at, around 35-40mph and rolled over a pretty rough patch of road. I have yet to see it disengage on a good clean test though. So I may have that ironed out.

But on a trip down the street to grab dinner, I forgot I had left the cruise set to 'on', and the unit decided all on its own to engage and gently accelerate. This was without having hit the set button at all. It did disengage properly with a quick tap of the brakes. At that point I moved the switch to 'off', and it didn't happen again.

I know there are a myriad of reasons it might randomly disengage... but has anyone got any idea why it would randomly 'resume' all on its own ??

Sounds like a bad control switch.

I had that brand of that unit in the past and my first control switch was bad and did similar things. Replaced the control switch and it was all good after that.

I kind of wondered if it had to be the control switch, since I don't see how intermittent power to anything, or goofy speed or rpm signal could cause it to engage on its own. Thanks.
