Wiper Blades - '94 Coupe
How could something so simple be so difficult!
Short Story: I am trying to replace my wiper blades and cannot find ANY manufacturer that sells a wiper blade that does not interfere with the back of my hood. I am now trying my fourth type of wiper blades! Three sets of Bosch (long story and not a good experience at our local parts store) and my present set of Trico (purchase on-line). Any suggestions? More Details: The main problem is that in the 'stored position' [which places the wiper under the back of the hood or 'out of sight' versus visible on windshield]; ...... When I turn the wipers on, the top of the blade assembly physically hits the the underneath portion of back of the hood. Some wiper assemblies hit so hard, they physically would not come out (or go back in when turning the blades off). Plus this is not good for the paint under the hood. So, I find my self 'grinding' or removing the top section of the blade to make it fit. Ridiculous and unacceptable...... and they still hit. The current set is made by Trico and 'specifically' made for the '94 Corvette (as advertised) and I just installed them. They work, somewhat, ......they do come out, but still hit the hood on the way out. I have not put them on the grinder yet because once I do that, I cannot return them. Also, the Trico wiper is 19-inch and other companies recommend a 20-inch blade. So, which is it? Does it matter.....probably not. Second and minor problem. The current blades on the car over-extend quite a bit past the windshield into the air. So, the 19-inch does help reduce that; however, the real solution will be to remove the assembly off the spline, rotate in the correct direction, and put back on the spline. |

What Trico blade are you using? The Trico 20-2 should fit. The ACDelco 8-2202 should be a good number for you. I'm using Michelin "High Performance" 20", which fit fine.

'96 blades won't work for the OP '95 & '96 yes but '94 NO!!! OP - If you have issues with 'wipe' - the adjustment HRR mentions is explained 8E-9 with an illustration figure #13 8E-12. The Trico 20-2 will park under the hood if you've no hood alignment issues. Regarding the 19" - I've a friend who used (still uses) 1" shorter blades on everything that he owned GM through likely 2000 or maybe later. He insists that the 'wipe pattern' is much better and with just a water hose he showed me. I couldn't argue with him. |

I bought these online and just put them in the original housing. Kind of a pain if you have no patience but its better than driving around all over town. |
