Captive Nut for 72 vette bumper

One side of a 72 chrome front bumper I recently sold is missing a captive nut. What is the best solution to fix this? Does anyone sell the captive nuts that can be welded up?

Thank you

An ACE hardware store (or equivalent) should have weld-nuts. You can also order them from catalog/internet automotive performance vendors.

If the area is difficult to "reach" where the weld-nut needs to be attached you can drill four 5/32" diameter holes in the bracket so that the flat corners of the weld-nut can be tacked to the bracket by filling the drilled holes with welding material.
