Captive Nut for 72 vette bumper
One side of a 72 chrome front bumper I recently sold is missing a captive nut. What is the best solution to fix this? Does anyone sell the captive nuts that can be welded up?

An ACE hardware store (or equivalent) should have weld-nuts. You can also order them from catalog/internet automotive performance vendors.
If the area is difficult to "reach" where the weld-nut needs to be attached you can drill four 5/32" diameter holes in the bracket so that the flat corners of the weld-nut can be tacked to the bracket by filling the drilled holes with welding material. |
