Those wheels look familiar....

Looks fantastic. I agree the black wheels on a white Vette are a great combination but I think what really makes the look is those stripes. The contrast between the white, black, and red, with that little bit of black at the front of the stripe tying it all together really is a great look.

Thanks ! There is actually a black outline painted around the red ! I picked out paint colors that match the interior.

By this time next year, I will be into the motor, suspension build. I found a brand new LT4 Hot Cam on Craigslist for $100.00 less than going price (still in the sealed GM shipping tube, I was the 1st to open it to make sure it hadn't rusted before paying). I also went to Erie Pa and picked up a set of the heads that have more meat in them to have them ported. I am considering having them done to L.E's LE2 level.

When done, it will perform as good as it looks. I have always wanted to build up a nice car for myself, doing most of the work myself. I have to get this one as nice as the '65 I did when I was younger.

All of you folks have a piece of yourselves in this car. I read about what so many have done to their cars and take what I like that will mesh in with my end goals. It was on this forum that I found out about the Banski suspension parts (in the closet waiting), the DeWitt radiator (in the car), etc etc. This forum really enabled me to do a "fast forward" on the learning curve.

Some of the folks here on the forum have sold me some of the parts that are in the car already.

If you're heading for Winslow and are into trains, check out the Grand Canyon RR. They have train excursions between Williams, AZ and the Grand Canyon. Best thing is IIRC it's one trip a month they do it with a steam locomotive while the rest of the month it's with early diesel units.

There are hotels on both ends of the route if you want to stay there, bus trips around the Grand Canyon etc. We did it a few years ago and it was a blast. Check it out if you're interested.

By the way, like the looks of your car. The wheels complement it. It's surprising how something as simple as changing rims can have such an effect on the appearance of a vehicle.

If you get in your car and drive west out to Bird Island, that is where my dad's family is from.
I still have family that lives in Minn. For the most part, they were all farmers. Some of the family farms have been sold off as it is hard for the younger ones to get started unless the machinery etc is passed down.

Yes, they run absolutely true, balanced with less weights than the oem wheels. The tires that needed it, still took some weight, just not as much.

I went to Office Max and bought a big chisel point permanent black marker and colored the weights black before putting the wheels on the car.
