Yellow Z06 with black roof

One thing I've always wanted to do since owning the car is to have the roof and b pillars painted black. It was painted and cleared today and should be buffed Friday

Finally getting the Z painted how I've wanted since buying the car 4 years ago. Can't wait for the finished product.

Nice. Hope you like it, it should look really cool. I would have done a vinyl wrap to make sure I like it before going with paint.

Always good to get the car looking just the way you want it.

I have thought about wrapping mine so i will be interested to see the final product.

Ramets 06-28-2018 08:33 AM

I wrapped mine with a carbon fiber wrap. Didn't do the pillars because I didn't want to cover my Tweety.:) This was taken before I also wrapped the mirrors.https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...beab81dc5a.jpg

I have seen a few with vinyl wrap which reaffirmed wanting to do it in paint.

No doubt about that. Just like every other Vette owner we love to make these cars are own.

Wrap is the way to go if you want a temporary look for the time being. Just make sure to invest in a high quality wrap. I have seen some pretty terrible wraps and was less than impressed with the outcome. The owners on the other hand thought they looked great.

You could always finish out the pillars then go back and do a yellow tweety over it. I think it would pop having the yellow over the black.

Oh nice, I’ll be interesting in seeing the result!

zeevette 06-28-2018 01:15 PM

Should have kept going, and painted the whole car black. :D

Then that would require washing the car on a constant basis.
I'm too fat and lazy for all that.

I'm right there with you, however, with a black car, a California duster becomes your best friend.

Ready to be buffed

Not4spd 06-30-2018 09:05 PM

Picked the car up today, did a quick wash when I got home. Not for everyone, it's one of those you either like or you hate it, but I absolutely love the way it looks.

Looks cool - different.

Looks good. I think the lower valance of the rear bumper looks good in black as well, it's one of the things I would like to do someday.

This is a carbon fiber wrap I did after seeing someone else here who did it.

Thanks everyone. I still can't get over how much it changed the look of the car.

Moto One 07-02-2018 03:41 PM

Alway like the look on the C3s with the vinyl removable hardtop for the convertibles. Look great.

Mark.
