Opinion on these numbers and engine stamp please?

Hi, it's been a while for me so not sure how to read this engine stamp. To me it looks like Flint November 22 HG. Is that correct?

Does that stamp look original or like a restamp, or you can't tell without seeing in person? (They look pretty sloppy to me, I would think a counterfeiter would be more precise but I have no expertise here.)

If correct do the engine numbers/dates line up with the trim tag numbers or is the final assembly date to close to the engine stamp date? (Assuming I am reading the date correct as November 22.)

Thanks,

Looks like a restamp to me.

The numbers were originally stamped in a gang holder. It's possible for a digit to be off a little, even with the holder, but the "II22" are just way to far off, in my opinion. I don't see if there are any broach marks on the pad either, but that may just be because of the quality of the picture.

Below is a picture of the gang holder that GM used to stamp the pad, as well as a couple pictures of original stamp pads.

That looks like a sloppy restamp.

Thanks guys. Can I please ask you about one more? What are your thoughts on this one?

While I’m no expert this stamp looks better.

I have seen many stamping screwups, remember the times, lots of pot smoking, you can really tell the difference between Camaros made by California and the ones from Ohio. Corvettes were not immune to these problems.

As for yours, for whatever reason he was stamping each by hand, slipped and hit it again off the mark. Or it was a replacement block with a clean pad, so the dearlership stamped it to mimic the trashed block.
