Now remember - at this same time I was installing an aftermarket stereo system, so I had the entire interior apart...I installed new stereo wiring, vibration dampening stuff, sound deadening stuff, etc. all at this time. It was an opportune time to do this stuff all at once. And while the seats were out I fixed the "rocking seat" issue that had emerged on my C5's driver's seat (a malady that virtually all stock seats will eventually suffer), and went ahead and did the passenger seat, too. That problem has not recurred, so I assume this fix is (semi-) permanent. My points to you: 1. Consider using used carpet sourced from Vette Nuts or one of the other Forum vendors. Used carpet is certainly less expensive and likely will be a closer fit to the carpet you are removing. Here's a link to Vette Nuts' website: http://www.vettenuts.net 2. Consider performing ALL of the other mini-projects you might want to do to your interior at the same time, then marshal all of the parts to minimize downtime. 3. Here is a link to the "rocking seat" fix: http://www.lieblweb.com/c5seatfix.html. 4. Here is a link to a vendor website on which is discussed the "science" behind vibration dampening, sound deadening, etc.: http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com. 5 Here's another (generic) link on removal of interior carpet: http://books.google.com/books?id=1TP...ed=0CFsQ6AEwBQ The Lizzard |
Thanks! For all the information, like yourself wanr to do all the interior work all at once.
