58 hood hinge

While installing rack & pinion, I put in new reproduction radiator core support and CC chrome hinges.
But hinge does not match up with welded nut on core support.
I tried enlarging hinge holes and even switching hinge from left to right.
Still no fit.
because I don’t have it now, wIll original core support and hinge make a big difference?
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
The chrome hinges that CC sells are the same as the painted reproductions. The holes are the same. The "three hole side" attaches to the side of the support, and faces forward. Here is a search link with a couple of pictures. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...es-please.html

Thanks to Mike I got the hood on.
But the font is half inch too high.
The 3-bolts on the hinge bracket attached to the core of support is all the way up, so bracket can’t go down any further.
How do you make front hood go down half inch?
Only thing I see is enlongate bracket slots for 3-bolts even though bracket material may become weak.
Thanks,
Eric

Theres no way for me to know what you've got going. But the hinge goes up in the pocket. On up side down maybe?

Can you post a photo of how you installed the hinge? We might see something...

I was thinking where Firstgears hinge joggles down you might have that part flipped up. That would raise the hood. Firstgear would you post pics of the actuator, mounting to the hood and brand?

Dakota Digital Actuator. I like their actuators because they have the ability to adjust length. The shaft piece has a fine thread and you can spin the end to get the hood to close right where you want it.

There is a plate inserted into the hood and then held in place with insulating foam so when unbolted the plate doesn’t fall or make attaching bracket difficult.

I took the actuator apart and had pieces chromed. I called my chrome shop to understand how much the chrome would grow the diameter and had the shaft turned down by that amount prior to chrome plating. You can see where the bracket I made mounts to the hood and offsets to match up to where I have the actuator base mounted on the frame. The photo above is before I had it chromed.

You can lower the core support in the body
Loosen or slot the holes on the side of the core support - two on either side
You can move the nose up or down
That will move your core support up and down / also your hood
