Weiand Team G SBC Intake
Weiand makes 3 Team G's as far as I can tell for Gen 1 SBC; low rise, part # 7530, 3/4" taller part # 7532, and a 2" taller, part # 7531. I wish to use one of these (2" if I can) and retain the stock hood on my 1980. Any had experiences? Have a used on for sale?

I have the Team G air gap 7530 low rise. I am able to run a 4" tall air filter with a 1-3/4" drop base under my stock '76 hood. I only use a paper carb to intake gasket. Heat has not been an issue with the Holley Street HP 650 DP.

I have a 69 small block in my car, with G tema 7530, 40mm drop down base, 3" K/N filter, K/N lid and EFI
And I have 3-4mm to "spare/play with" :- ) when the hood is closed. BUT I've made small mods to the base, to get it all the way down. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9dacb556aa.jpg |
UPS.....and std. hood !!!!

Great responses. Thanks very much. The pics were awesome! The manifold is going on my Hardcore 454 SBC.

I run the 7530 on a pretty hot 406 with Dart 200 Pro 1 heads......it has an open 1/2" wood spacer. The choice was made after much research....this is the best performing short open manifold.......the Victor Jr. requires work to match it. I have seen dyno results of the 2" tall manifold and the gain is negligible....this is due to the runners being kinda small......the runners flow what they flow. I recommend the Team G highly. The intake will support 530 horsepower or so......

If you get the shorter manifold then you can always add spacers if desired. I don't believe there is any difference to the shape of the actual manifold and runners, the taller manifolds just have a taller plenum.

I got the Team G 7532. This is the one that is raised 3/4". Got the engine home earlier this week. Will be checking how much I'll have to do to match up the ports. Thanks for the responses and pix!
