I admit that I am stupid.........................

How do you open the doors when you have the battery out of the car? Thanks

brimee 07-21-2018 02:17 PM

Open back with key and pull manual release...

The only manual release I found was for the gas flap. Where is a release for the doors? Thanks

Look on the floor, next to each seat. Replace battery with a good one, and open the door.

you misread the question.....doors are closed...hatch is open....sounds like he doesn't have a new battery yet but wants to open the doors

Mine is a little black tab right behind the rear wheel well in the trunk. It has a drawing of the driver door open on it. If your window is down you should be able to reach the one next to the drivers seat, it is up near the back of the floor mat

That's why I always drop the windows first before removing the battery. That way you can reach in and pop the ejection handles and open the door(s).

It's a little further toward the front of the car.

As I said before. The pull lever is in the trunk just forward of the lever for the fuel door,

Edit; Sorry, looks like you saw my reply.

As you guys said, the battery was trashed. Installed a new battery and it looks like my electronics are working. Well the TPMS is reading zero on all four tires but I assume it will correct itself. Thanks for all the advice. You guys always come through with the answers!

Also I will check on the Ctek battery tender. Thanks!

:partisan...glad you finally got the doors open. Now, a comment...you have been on the forum for 5 years, and didn't know about the hatch release? It is brought up on the forum at least once every month. Spend a little more time here. Things like knowing how to open the doors in an emergence could be very important...lots other things, too.

Hope the battery fixes everything for you. The TPMS should correct after a few cycles, or 20 miles or so.

The gas flap release was exposed but the door release was hidden behind the carpet. I have never had occasion to need the door release so I wasn't sure where it was located. It was just a quick question to any forum member and I had no idea it would irritate anyone.

is it true that some died in a c7 because the battery died and they didn't know how to get out?

That was a person that died in the drivers seat because he didn't know about the emergency release on the floor next to his seat. It wasn't a C7.

he also didn’t know how to take the top off. Cause that would have worked too.

Himand his dog died I think There’s also a release next to the gas door release.

It was a C6 in Tucson, AZ. It may have happened elsewhere, too.
