How many of you roll with no front plate in a state that requires it?
 

Just got my C5 Z06 and I really hate to put the front plate on it because it looks so much better with the cover on it. But I live in IL where front plate is required and I see cops all the time. I feel like it's just a matter of time before I get hassled and pulled over so I might just go ahead and put it on. So do any of you get hassled much that live in a state that requires one?

I am in NY and they ticket you here, I have the hideaway plate in front. When I go to car shows where they are known to be at the entrance, I pull the plate up and out. Otherwise, I dont like the way they look with the plates.

I don't run a front plate here, but my car is not a daily driver. I have been pulled over for no front plate but never ticketed. Most LEOs are good guys, but I understand that I might get pulled over tomorrow and get a ticket.

It is a bad look. I've been taking my chances on all my cars for year. I hope my luck does not run out.

I don't and my C6 is my daily driver.

they just want your plate to show up on the cctv cameras planted all over the place, that's basically all it is and then a cash grab to ticket people

I didn't run a front plate on my2 Corvettes for almost 20 years untl last spring when I got a warning ticket. Now I do.

I have not run a front plate in a few years. I did when I first bought my vette. Then I decided to heck with it. Am I breaking a law. Yes. Will I pay the ticket if I get one. Yes.

Province... I've run with for over 4 years, just decided to try a cover (almost see thru, bought and nite shades painted it a year or so ago) a couple weeks ago.

I live in a state where a front plate is required, but I haven't put one on any of my Vettes in the past 25 years! I only drive my Vettes during summer and only on fair weather days, I've been pulled over a few times for not having the front plate but never ticketed for it. I think a front plate on a Vette ruins the nose aesthetics and I won't put one on even if they do ticket me.

Fellow Illinois resident here. Never put a plate on my last Z06, and won't put a plate on my current Z06. I have never been hassled by cops. Well, just once. I was at a gas station and a local cop wanted to know what mods I did to the car. :lol:

Have not run a front plate on any fair-weather cars since 2006 in Ohio. Pass LEOs everyday and never been stopped or even casually inquired about when an officer just comes over to look at the cars. The LEOs get it and don't want to hassle you any more than you want to be hassled. I have an LEO friend who is a car junkie and he says they have more critical things to do with their time, although if you're ticketed for another infraction it could get tacked on at the officer's discretion. It's interesting that all five states surrounding Ohio do not require a front plate.

No front plate, its a NJ law.

Its funny how owners put the plate on their dash, hoping it will be counted as being legal. :lol:

Pulled twice in 2 different cars one ended up with 2 tickets the other was a warning. It's a reason to be pulled that can lead to probable cause for something else. I don't need the hassle of a obvious violation.

I run the front plate on mine - I just do not want to give an LEO any reason to stop me for something that is so minor to me.

Lived in Texas for a little while after basic with a black benz and 10% tinted windows, never got pulled over in 6 months of driving there with no front
