Rear brake line fitting

As the title suggests I'm trying to find the the thread of the fitting that connects to the rear flex line(Highlighted in the pic below) so I can find a plug at the autoparts store to keep everything sealed up while I'm replacing my rear trailing arms. Thanks for any help!

If you want ANY help, I used a pair of cheap vise grip clones to clamp off the two rubber hoses. My trailing arms are still out, but if you are going to replace the rubber hoses anyway, this might be an option to consider.

A brake line, cut and fold over the line, hammer fold tight and install. T

All different size rubber plugs are sold at Ace Hardware

I AGREE.

Even though I have the blue cap plugs that can seal this port off. Getting a brake line and doing it as what has been suggested is the fastest way to get it done.

I ALSO agree with clamping off the rubber hos which I do IF I am replacing the hose with a new one. I NEVER EVER clamp off the hose if it has age on it and I am NOT going to replace it for any reason due to causing for possible problems in that hose later on....even though they make tools to safely clamp of the hose. I just do not do it and will use my plug instead....and I often times even put a new hose on due to being so inexpensive.

heh ive always used plastic bags cut and triple folded then taped to protect the threads and prevent dirt getting in.

I've thought about clamping the rear flex line but I just replaced it last month so I was hoping to not damage it and I don't have any spare metal lines to make into a plug. But it's looking like clamping it may just be the easiest option. Thanks for the ideas!

When I replaced my Master Cylinder a couple of years ago, I bought some sort of kit from O'Reilly's that had lots of different sized plastic gizmos that had male or female threads and small rubber hoses for bleeding. Many good uses for these especially when dealing with brakes and brake lines.

Going to a parts house and buying a metal brake line about a foot long costs basically nothing at all to make the plugs you need.

It is a 3/8, 24 pitch

Available at autozone:
BLF-60C solid brass Male plug...$2.99.

https://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-..._0_92953_92958

Bought two today--one to seal off the brake line and one to seal off the Caliper while I continue to work...worked perfectly

McGyver 101...I used a plugged rubber hose that I screwed in.

Thank you!! Thats exactly what I was looking for. I'd forgotten I need to seal the calipers off as well to keep them trash free. Looks like I'll be headed to autozone tonight.

By the way, if you haven't done it before, this guy's videos helped me a lot.
His dental floss trick probably saved me a 1/2 hour and a lot of cussing!
He has a 2 part series for removal and for installation.

Great video—watched a few times as I was prepping for the job. His shock mount cane out way easier than I am experiencing!

Thanks for the tip! I've seen those a few times and they have been very helpful so far. I'm jealous of how easily his shims came out. I've been soaking mine for a week and can't get them to budge.

That's a great video. I'm glad the closed captioning specified "a set of ole tongs".

Dental floss is the key to many Corvette tasks, and to preventing gum disease.
