Max HP from a C6
Hi guys,
Wondering if someone can give me an indication of the sort of power that the LS2 bottom end and T56 can handle before someone would need to look at strengthening them. Cheers all |
I made 830ish on my stock bottom end and ran it like that for a year before I put a forged rotating assembly in. With the 402 I made over 1000 with the stock t-56 which finally broke at the track last month.

As long as you don't beat on it daily 750-850 and maybe 900.
|
Thanks guys.

If you have a 2005, the diff will go first.

My pride and joy is slightly different. It's 07 HSV (Holden Special Vehicle) which is basically a C6 Vet in different cloths.

Depends to a point on how you drive.
Some break everything they touch, others drive cars a lifetime 'hard' without breaking a thing. In the end its all a crapshoot, just build it. |

Cheers all As for T56 trans, it will be fine for 650 HP and torque so long as you don't get into wheel hop, but problem will be with the diff isntead. Hence diff case cracking from the torque of the pinion to ring gear against the case, and/or output shafts snapping instead. Hence more a wheel-hop thing, but can launch hard enough without wheel hop with enough tire grip to grenade diff case. http://image.superchevy.com/f/109112...ntial_swap.jpg |

Crank will hold 1K, OEM pistons and connecting rods, about 650 with roots blower since it going to be making pressures from idle up, hence motor torque is going to be linear maxed from just above idle up. If your using a concentrically S/C, where your only on a boost for a few seconds at most for say strip runs, have see guys run up to 750 HP, but then again, only seeing a short boost for a few second max. If you were going to road coarse the car under boost hits over and over again for 45 mins each time, then limit the HP to about 650 with boost on the OEM bottom end.

I've been running a PD SC for about a year now, making 550/560 with occasional runs down the 1/8 and 1/4 mile, and lots of horsing around. Stock bottom end, A6 and diff. Still going strong with no issues.
