I like the c6 GS a lot but not sure if I should just wait

looking to buy a c6 corvette but not sure if for this mileage (98k)if it's a good deal at $26,900?

what questions should I ask? I plan on getting a mechanic to do a pre purchase inspection

also how many miles, if well maintained, do these c6 corvettes typically last for?

I know everyone loves the GS look, but I'd rather have an '08-09 narrow body with half the miles for the same price.

Hence right now you are seeing a lot of vets for sale at top dollar, since the weather is still warm enough to drive them, the summer drivers wanting them still..Bluntly, when the weather is bad, the Vet sits in storage waiting for the conditions to become vet weather isntead. Dallas is not bad to own a vet in the winter,but there will be times that the roads will not allow you to take such out isntead.

Myself, I want until the good snow storm before I buy vets, since this motivates the seller that needs to get out from under it to buy a car that they can drive in the winter, to really want to sell the vet. Hell, if you are shopping at a dealership, even more motivation for them to sell it, since the longer is sits on the lot, the more money they are out in the end instead.

As for buying a vet in the dead of winter when the streets are not Vet conditions, not really a problem, since you first start with a Carfax and GM service history of the car to see if you even want to consider buying it, or its a problem child from the start. Hence before you even go look at the car, get the vin number and reports to check first. If they check out and the visual spection looks good when you go see the car, next the car is taken to a independent shop that knows corvettes really well that you trust, to do a pre purchase inspection of the car before I even start to talk money. So the PP inspection runs around $200, and even if the car has to be flat towed to the shop and back for a few more hundred since the weather is to nasty to drive it, your talking about a $20K + car, that if is does have problems, the $400 you send to make sure it fine, will be a hell of lot less money, then finding out is have major problems that need to be fixed on your dime isntead. If the PPI finds problems, then you can use these as bargaining items to get the car price down for you to do the repairs after the deal is made, or the problems resolved before you buy the car instead.
Note, here, if your dealing with a GM dealer and they are going to repair the items with warranty, then get such if writing before you close the deal. If not a GM dealer that is are going to make such right before you buy the car, then may warrant a second PPI inspection before you finalize the deal to make sure that corrections where done correctly, and did not cause other problems isntead.

If the miles don't scare you [ I'm ok with them ] then at that price it's a fair deal, not a great deal but fair. Dude it's a Chevy so don't over think it, parts are readily available and for the most part cheap. Offer 23k, there may be some wiggle room.

2013 has the better seats, better OnStar, better homelink. That car has magnetic ride by the looks of the dash. It should also have USB on the radio. Ask if he has the stock red roof to go with it.

Its probably well sorted out and "debugged" so to speak, if you really like it then grab it.
I dont think time of yr in Tx has any effect at all on pricing, besides if you got the itch scratch it now.
Just dont compromise, thats too much to spend to not love all of it. Have you seen it? Ad is written like a used car dealer might. (financing, "appears to be in xx condition").

rob, if condition is good, it is a VERY GOOD DEAL. There are many 2010/11 GS with 70K + miles out there for $30K. If it has been taken care of, this is a winner.

No, there aren't any that I have come across. I am in the market every single day, 5 on-line sites, and all large-city CL listings. I see numerous 2010/11 GS's with 70K plus miles for $28k or more, none for less. This is a '13, 3lt. well worth the money (Not a 3LT, I just looked at the pics again).
We are not talking about whether you or I would buy a car with 100K miles...he wanted to know if it is a good deal, and it certainly is.

this is a tough one. i worry about the mileage. i saw the carfax and in a 3 to 4 month period, it accumulated 30,000 miles. i was able to get down the price to 24,500, he is a used car dealer.

BUT, when looking at auto trader, this seems lower than average price (saw a 2012 grand sport, 134k miles for 27k). I'm going to see it tomorrow. let me know if you guys have any additional thoughts.

Buckster, you and I seem to be in the minority along with rrmdeuce. I think it is a great deal IF it is what the OP is looking for.
I understand people asking the "what's it worth" question but, to a person, everyone says it's too much $$$ BUT I have a similar car and I wouldn't sell it for that OR I just bought a car (8 months ago) that kinda resembles that car and paid less $$$.
Go figure.

I remember somebody on here had a 250,000 (?) mile vette and it started it's life as a rental. Forum member wayback has one with over 200,000. Calloway had a modified Corvette that had over 200,000 miles. And, trust me, there are more. Maintenance is the key.
