UPP Twin 6281 2005 M6

Title pretty much says it all. I've had my 2005 C6 for almost 2 years now and amassed several hours of seat time so I finally pulled the trigger on a project I've wanted to do for a long time. Car is pretty much full bolt on with the exception of any mods that would've conflicted with the UPP kit.
Current mod list:
FAST 102 Intake
FAST LSX fuel rails
BTR Stage 2 Turbo Camshaft
BTR Cam install kit (valve springs and pushrods)
Borla X Pipe
Hooker Blackheart Axleback
GS front end widebody
Carbon Creationz rear fenders
Z06 OEM brake system
APR GTC-500 71" Wing
I ordered the revised UPP kit from TPS with 96 lbs injectors and 6182 turbos. once it arrives I plan on doing a very in depth and informative step by step install on this thread both to chronicle the task myself and to provide others with detailed pictures who might be looking to do the same. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a767083299.jpg

Is this kit the one with turbos in the fenders or like the z06 kit and mounted up top in the engine bay?

As we speak.........

Ditch the fast and fuel rails unless you want to burn the car down.

Shikaitsu 08-17-2018 11:18 AM

It's a fender mount kit. Car is a wet sump motor. I've had the FAST fuel rails for over a year and check them weekly for leaks and so far it's been dry. But all concerns are duly noted.

That wouldn't happen to be my order would it? Haha ;)

Yup!

That box in the last pic there next to the pipes is yours with your clip board right above it. Almost done now, just waiting on injectors, and air filters I believe.

Looks nice!

Did you clear coat the cf fenders? I was thinking of doing the same thing

Shikaitsu 08-21-2018 02:00 PM

The CF fenders are on as they came, no cracks in the clear coat yet. They don't fit well, though so be prepared to fight with them or have a professional body shop install. I chose the latter and went with a highly acclaimed Corvette specialist body shop in the area and the carbon fenders still don't fit very well where the meet the hatch.

Update (sort of) I don't have the kit yet but I've been reading up on Mishimoto's direct replacement radiator and decided to preorder mine while the price was still discounted. It also comes pre-notched for supercharged/turbocharged cars so I'll include the install in this thread as well with some insight and how compatible it is with the UPP kit. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...41f93cd900.jpg

Those should be fine. The amount we move down on the radiator is minimal, and only the vertical section on there that's cut out. This was bigger on the C5's than the C6's since we drop and move the radiator forward already. Worst case you can shim the radiator drop brackets and move it down a touch more.

Kit arrives today, gonna unbox and upload some pictures of everything it comes with so future buyers know what to expect. Tear down will begin this weekend.

g23crawler 09-04-2018 12:27 PM

Im assuming this kit uses a scavenger pump? Curious are how the lines are ran and where the pump is mounted.

Shikaitsu 09-04-2018 12:32 PM

UPP has a video on Youtube detailing most of the install process from start to finish. In their video the oil return pump is mounted on the frame rail and returns into the oil cap up top. The video is several years old however and features an older design of the kit which is the primary reason as to why I'm trying to be as detailed as possible because I couldn't find a ton of helpful pictures with the redesigned kit.
