ARP Bolt

I am putting in a new harmonic balancer. I am using the Power Bond Race Performance PB 1117SS. I am replacing the ARP bolt too. However, not sure of the correct number. I have been told two different numbers. I have a 2010 Grand Sport LS3, 6.2. Thank you.

2342503 is the bolt kit for LS3. Just bought mine as well.

Thank you.

Don't forget to pick up the diamond washer that goes on the crank before you install the HB!!!!! The washer is not that thick, but does index the HB correctly when is draw in with the install tool.

Hence pull the old Diamond washer once you remove the old HB if not stick to the back of it, install the new washer, and don't forget to use 272 loctite on the bolt so it does not back out.

As for ARP or new OEM torque to yeild stretch HB bolt, prefer the OEM with 272 loctite.

The ARP kit comes with a washer. Not entirely sure if it's a DEW or replacement for it. Also, that's the first I've read of the DEW. Is the DEW purposed for the OEM pulley?
I know it's supposed to keep the pulley from spinning on the snout of the crank, but this can also be prevented by pinning your crank, which is a better, more reliable, and stronger method than the washer. That's the route I'm going.

Question, why replace the ARP bolt if you have one already? They are a reusable bold, no?

No, oem HB bolt is a stretch to use, one time use only.

As for the ARP washer that comes with the bolt, it for the head of the ARP bolt on front of the HB, and you will still need the DEW for behind the HB as well.

Hence OEM bolt head is wide enough/does not use a washer, So its a solid friction fit to the face of the HB instead.

As for the Diamond washer for the back side , GM 12603843

Is the DEW still required if installing an aftermarket HB with ARP bolt and crank pin kit? Even if the crank pin kit prevents the pulley from spinning on the snout, would the DEW still be required behind the pulley for spacing purposes?

dew washer not really required but definitely pin the crank without one.a lot of aftermarket hb's are not finish machined for the dew washer.if the dew will fit use it also.

I know the OEM bolt is a 1 time bolt. In the OP’s post he stated “I am replacing the ARP bolt too” which led me to believe he already has the ARP bolt. The ARP bold is a multi use bolt, not a 1 time use. I was asking him for clarification as to why he would replace that bolt if he already had it.

Dew needed to space the HB correctly forward off the front of the oil pump drive gear that its sisters up against.

I hope your 2010 Grand Sport has an automatic transmission (non dry sump engine). The bolt you ordered is for a LS3 non dry sump engine. The manual transmission Grand Sports are dry sump and use the LS7 ARP bolt. The balancer will be incorrect as well. I'm surprised no one else has brought this to your attention.
