My First Vette- 1992 LT1 Convertible- WNY
Hello all! After 35 years of waiting, I finally took the plunge and purchased my first Corvette. It is a 1992 LT-1 rag top. I purchased it from the original owner with 48k miles. Looking forward to learning much more about the car as time goes on. I enjoy doing basic repairs and preventive maintenance myself. As a 35 year street bike rider who is getting out of riding due to a bad back, a convertible seemed to be the best choice. I live in Lewiston, NY (north of Niagara Falls). I hope to see some of you out on the road some weekend!

Beautiful car. I have lived in Florida most of my life but spent my childhood in Lockport, not far from you. Welcome aboard! |

Hey! Small world Sabre! I was just in Lockport Monday. Ran over to Molinaro's to get something for a sick friend. I have had some good times in the Lock City. Cheers!

Congrats. on your sharp C4 convertible! |
Thanks everyone! We safely made the 680 mile trip back home safely and all things considered, the old Garage Queen did well! She ran well, at 85MPH most of the way. She was definitely running rich, with a middling 17mpg on highway, and the SES light cycling on & off intermittently. The only limiting factor was my left hip's reaction to the tight foot well clearances! Boy, it sucks to get old and stiff!!! It was really nice to pass whenever I wanted to, dispatching left lane losers quickly and without having to plan the pass miles in advance like with my Outback!! As a reward, by baby got a wash, clay bar treatment, and wax! Sadly for me she has already been adopted (stolen) by the Warden......

I guess you’ll just have to buy another one! I’m glad your 680 mile trip went well. Congrats again! |
