Enjoy rooting on the #3 and 4 car. I so wanted to be at VIR this year but couldn’t make it happen. Nothing compares to the V8 roar of the C-7Rs. Send us some video snippets of the race. |
watched it on IMSA.tv today
will be there tomorrow |
I'll be there tomorrow as well..... Corvette Corral !
Leaving Smith Mountain Lake, VA at 5:30 am. Should only take an hour and a half for me. Richard |

Hope they do well.

I am just starting to get into watching these guys. I have seen photos for the C8R in testing. If the C8 is introduced in January, any guesses when they will switch over to the C8R? I was kind of wanting to get out to see the C7R before it retires. Do I need to go this year or can I wait for next season? |

C7R needs to REALLY get their pit strategy together. It's cost them in 3 races so far this year.

Ford debuted the new FGT at the 2015 NAIAS in Detroit in January 2015, and they got an exemption from IMSA/FIA to race in 2016 before the customer cars went into production. It first raced at Daytona in January 2016. Following that timetable, if GM introduces the C8 at NAIAS in January 2019 as currently expected, it should be ready for the 2020 IMSA/FIA season. The C7R will have to soldier on for 1 more season after this one. |
FS2 Again!!!
Who even has FS2?? I hate when they start the race on FS1 then switch it to FS2. I hope they rebroadcast it in its entirety on FS1. Go Team Corvette! |
You can stream it to your TV on the FoxGo app if you have FS1 with your cable service. That's what I'm doing, and it is in HD.
The good news is next year, IMSA is moving to NBC, which has committed to broadcasting every race in it's entirety on NBC, NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), or CNBC. Most cable networks include all of those with the basic package. |
Thanks, but you can’t record it if your not able to watch it live.
That is great news! |
I didn't say record, I said stream it if you have the FoxGo app on your phone. If you had, you could have watched it live with your phone hooked to a big screen. That's what I do. iPhones have an adapter which hooks into the HDMI port of any flat screen. It mirrors your phone screen on a big screen, and it is in HD.

BMW's are fast. Just goes to show BOP can make PIGS fly! |
BOP hasn't changed for them since early in the season unless something happened after the last race at RA two weeks ago that I haven't heard about. As we've often seen, certain tracks favor certain cars, and they've been quick in spurts at a lot of places this year. Their problem is they either break or they screw up in the pits. Short races certainly favor them, because they've been miserable in the endurance races w/ regard to mechanical reliability.
It was an interesting day as far as the standings are concerned. The 2nd place finish (32 points) for the #3 C7R put them in the team car/drivers points lead after the lead #67 FGT broke down early, and finished 7th. Even though #67 has won 3 races this year, they are now in 3rd. That just goes to show how important podium finishes are because the #3 car hasn't won a race this year, but are now the points leader. #66 moved into 2nd with a 4th place finish and 28 points. Totals below do not include today's results. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...871b563f68.png Ford remains in control of the manufacturer's championship standings, but lost 4 points to Chevrolet today. Ford is now leading 293 to 283 w/ 2 races left to go. One of the C7Rs needs to win each of the last two races, AND hope neither FGT finishes on the podium. Best finishing car gets the points in this title race, so add 35 to the BMW total, 32 for Chevrolet, 28 for Ford, and 26 for Porsche to get the current standings. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...78ae637978.png |
The M6 is to big and is another attempt by BMW to field a car in GTLM that is not in the class of any of the cars it races against. The M3 was lacking in aerodynamics. The Z4 was allowed to run an engine that it did not even offer to the public. These are not my words, this was Doug Fehan's comments at Long Beach. |

M6 was last year's BMW, but still competes in GTD. This year it's called the M8.
EDIT: beat me to the punch. |
