2019 Z06 changes?
Anyone owns a 2019 Z06 that had a previous year by chance? Are there any changes to mention? Is it any better than the previous years and can you confirm whether the kinks were ironed out?
Thanks! Keagan |
I have read shock software update installed and improved paint finish quality..

Thanks! Keagan guessing here but one would think it would support more horsepower than the 2015-2018. Plus the other stuff mentioned. 33k on my 2015 thinking of a 2019-2020 what ever the last ones are. Plan to get one of the last manuals. |
Is the cooling issue still a thing or has it been gradually tweaked? I know the front fascia on the ZR1 played a big role along with all the coolers but seeing that the Z06 don't have a face lift or any extra coolers, I was just wondering?

The way to look at is the 15s are sort of the base, the 16s got the front camera which helps a lot when parking a car with an expensive and low front splitter (in early 2016 both the 15 and 16 M7s had the GMPP Secondary Radiator made available to them through the performance parts division of GM. The 17s got the supercharger changes and the 17 M7s got the secondary radiator. The 18s were pretty much the same and the 19s got the MRC update which was made into an optional upgrade for the earlier cars. The M7s without the secondary radiator don't over heat very often on track while the ones with the secondary radiator rarely over heat. I have never met a C7 Z06 owner at a track event that complained about over heating. Bill |

Actually quite a few but they really don't matter unless you are going to mod the car. Esp sweet though for those are planning to! Stronger gears and axles. Better low side fuel pump

Plan to get one of the last manuals. The fuel system can support almost 20% more fuel and thus HP and Torque numbers at the crank... which is probably over 13% more power at the wheel at least. All the owner needs to do is add more air and a tune. I am still confused why the 19 zo6 can be tuned but the zr1 cant, i thought the z06 got the zr1 computer, but i guess that is not completely the case? |

:iagree: he is right about the rear end and the fuel system. If you plan to mod the car, these are expensive items to have to upgrade at a later date if a person buys an 18 or earlier.

2019 c7z has a larger radiator too than previous years and whats interesting is in the tune it's listed as a larger tb (zr1 size) last one we had here i forgot to mic it out and see but i found that interesting. Also 2019 Z has an additional map sensor on the passenger side of the blower like the v3/zl1's have behind the driver side. This reads outside pressure and will let the oem boost gauge work on an auto car when going procharger with no issue. Also hx is slightly taller

Newer C7's are better than older C7's.

OK, guys, help me out. I recently bought a new '19 Z manual 2LZ and will be getting delivery of it pretty soon. I am really excited about it, as I think it incorporates all of the developments for this car and as a manual, will be one of the last Vettes to offer a manual transmission on a very high performance model. Now, I thought I knew what the improvements were for '19, mainly notably improved paint and panel fitment plus having the latest and best MSRC programming from GM. Then I learned that it had a higher capacity fuel pump from the ZR1. Now I am reading it may have stronger gears and axles (spin-off from ZR1?), larger radiator (?), larger TB?
I am not unhappy to hear all of this if it is true. So, does anyone know definitely what is new to '19 and what isn't? I have a '19 GM Brochure set (beautifully done) and it does not mention any of these upgrades for the '19 Z06. I realize that for '19, all the attention (news) is about the ZR1, or on another thread, about the C8 ME (which to me is shaping up as a GM version of the Acura NSX body style) but I would think that all of these other items would be referenced? And for those of you who say these things are definitely on the '19 Z - where are you getting this information? Thanks! |

I have a 2019 Z06 Watkins Glen Gray and the paint is flawless.

i was wrong, the 18 and 19 have the same HX i believe, and the 17 had a different one... and the 15 and 16 are different from the 17. So my comment earlier about the 17 being the same as the 19 is not correct.

Not to throw a wrench into this post, but has the "shutter" been resolved? I am ordering a Z after graduation in a few months and the idea that this could be an ongoing issue has completely turned me off the A8 and into the M7 camp.

any car built after January 2019 has the correct fluid. The corrected fluid solves the issue.
I am in limbo, i could pull the trigger on the 19, but i have a hunch the 2020's are going to be something special for the c7 z. |

A Thank You to Tom DeWitt, a forum vendor who posted these primary radiator part numbers. As mentioned, the M7 has a secondary radiator too. So it appears 8448529 is the 2 1/8" thick radiator for the A8, starting in MY 2018.

It indeed is. I installed it on my '19 Z06 Z07 M7, a few weeks back (it only comes stock with AUTO).
