Wickerbill

My Z06 is being built this week. I'm thinking of getting the smoked wickerbill. Any thoughts about this as I've heard that with the wickerbill installed, it's very difficult to see out the back. I think it looks better but is vision going to be a big problem. Thanks

cuspid 09-05-2018 03:40 PM

I read you lose 3 miles per gallon also....

cyi1 09-05-2018 04:10 PM

It's not hard to see out the back with wickerbill installed.

But yes, I did get 2mpg higher with it removed.

Clspht 09-05-2018 04:27 PM

No problem seeing at all... I also took mine off for DD...

Pacembellum 09-05-2018 04:29 PM

It definitely hurts gas mileage. Honestly I would run stage 2 up front and stage 1 (stock z06) in the rear. Save the spoiler extensions, wickerbill and splitter stage 3, for cars and coffee and track days.

HorsePowerObsessed 09-05-2018 04:42 PM

Holy hell 3mpg you lose with just the wickerbill?!

Thomasmoto 09-05-2018 04:47 PM

It's no trouble to see through at all.

I have the stock stage 1 spoiler on mine but love the look of a stage 2 or 3 spoiler. However I drive from the Bay Area to Los Angeles once a month. And to be honest I love the 25 mpg that I'm getting and don't want to sacrifice it to 22 mpg just for a looks of the stage 2 or 3 spoiler.

Just my 2 cents.

HorsePowerObsessed 09-05-2018 04:55 PM

Yeah I can see through mine just fine. Literally no issues at all whether it is raining or if it is at night it's like it isn't even there. However, this 3mpg thing has me thinking...

I thought this was a made up word... :ack:

I have the stage 2 and on highway driving I average 27-28 mpg. Pleasant surprise, but I didn’t buy my Z06 for its good gas mileage.

This is true. Just crazy that the wicker bill would make that big of a difference.

I just went and picked up my car this past weekend after the new bits and pieces added , cam , fuel and so on . Car is near as damn it 1000 crank HP ( 862 rwhp) , without the wickerbill but with front spats , car averaged 11.6l per 100 kms or , just over 20 mpg . The trip was about 800 kms ( 500 miles ) . All in all , pretty good for such a powerful car , average speed was 113 kms per hr or just over 70 mph :)

It isn't as easy to see through as air. Depending on the way the sun reflects off it you may only see glare. I can get around the track fast but there are faster drivers and I have had them come up behind me and not see them coming until they are right on top of me. The best thing to do is to remove it and save some gas as well. The other thing to do is to lower it using the 4 adjustment screws. Lowering takes it mostly out of your direct sight line to the rear. When driving in the rain at night the thing makes rear vision miserable. After I lowered the wicker I was able to see much better.

:D:iagree: Same here, I have no problem seeing thru my Stage 3 wicker, and I'm not a bit concerned what fuel mileage my ZO6 gets, in my opinion 20+ mpg for a 650hp car is pretty awesome.

BMadden 09-06-2018 02:47 PM

No problem seeing out the back window on my car either....and it just looks so much better with that piece on.

BKorsaire 09-06-2018 03:22 PM

Why do you want to remove the wickerbill? I can see very well through it, just adjust it lower if necessary but its aggressive look is part of the car's personality

Same here! Do you need to do anything when you take it off or do you just remove the screws and pull it off? Do you fill the holes w/ anything?

JJLAI724 09-06-2018 05:59 PM

Is this what I need to convert my stock stage 1 to a stage 2/3?
