Cunningham motor sports

What happened to Cunningham Motor Sports? I heard that the State shut Ryne down. Does anybody on this forum know what happened?

Vet Interested 09-06-2018 07:37 AM

I heard the same thing, State of California shut the doors of CMS, also heard to look for CMS in Texas -

Yet , he’s still around tuning in other shops. Seems odd to me.

MTPZ06 09-06-2018 11:00 PM

Probably noise complaints...dyno tuning. Purely speculation on my part though....who knows. It's a loss to SoCal, but he'll fit right in out in TX...I wish him well, he was always good to me. I think he had some builds to finish up, probably a house to sell, find a new shop, new place to live, move all his shop gear and his family...a move of this magnitude takes time, planning and preparation. If he can continue to make some money tuning in the interim, I cant blame him.

byklin 09-07-2018 02:16 PM

so who's the go to guy now? izzy?

ClipperFan 09-07-2018 06:11 PM

Dang, he could have stopped in NV (wishful thinking I guess)

duhveed 09-08-2018 03:26 PM

The state didn’t close the shop. Ryne decided to close the shop location because he is thinking about moving and just wants to tune right now. The website is the way it is because he needs a new web guy to help him change the site.

I need some one/ shop to set my monitors to ready for smog. I cannot get the fuel system monitor to set no matter what I try.
No codes, no pending, new gas cap, new battery, and have done the GM drive cycle at least 8 times, fuel and evap will not set. I only need fuel to be tuned to ready, as u can have evap not set in Cali. I am in Riverside. Help !

The guy still has to eat....good luck to him in Tx. Ca isnt such a great place to have a biz anymore, too much $ restrictions, tax etc.

Amen to California having over regulations, taxes through the roof and it will continue to get worst every year, have heard many good things about CMS i wish them well in there new state.

Your posting on a public form that you want to break the law to pass smog and your looking for references on shops that will help you break the law?
Wow!

In California you cannot modify the computer or smog/evap system on a road going car. You can only modify the computer system, evap and smog systems on a 100% close coarse/ offroad use/ track only car that never drives on any public CA roads or streets.

We all know all this, instead of giving advice on what may be causing this......you rant about what we all already know. I am at wits end dude ! Car has no codes, no pending, no stored, no cel/mil no nothing and will not set the fuel system monitor, so I can not register car, drive car legally, or even legally keep doing these drive cycles. I have a brand new battery, new fuel cap, fresh fuel, tank kept between 1/3-3/4 full, followed the GM specific drive cycle at least 7-8 times, and fuel system and evap will not set, no matter what I do. In Cali you can have evap not set, so I only need fuel to set.
Car is completely stock except a Akra cat back, and that should not affect it.

So ya pal, I am desperate and posting on public forums as I am stuck with a glitch in my car, that I can not drive or register. My next step is to take it to a Corvette experienced shop to see if they can determine if car has something wrong causing this anomaly, and/or try the local dealer and see if it is covered under the emissions warranty, as it is a 2013 Z.
Thanks for the help.

Why not take the car to the shop you recommend and have them diagnose and correct the issue vs public advertising your wanting to break CA state law and would like a shop to help you do that?

By the way its stuff exactly like what your posting that shut CMS down, just saying... But hey what do I know...

In your blind rage you failed to read that is my next step, read before you rant. Better get ready close/move, a post on this thread has your shop mentioned, only a matter of time....yep a post like mine closed a shop, delusional is the nicest way to describe you.
BTW, you are going to real busy here on the forum ranting on the hundreds of post that mention tuning out monitors, and how to use HP tuners to set monitors to ready, in many many States, including Cali, all not legal..... have fun since you have made yourself the self designated police. Again, no advice on what maybe wrong with my car, leads on what to look for ?
Nope, but plenty of misguided ranting and anger.

Boy do I regret personally sending at least 3 people to you to have work done, last one just over $9k. Live and learn.....

98stangt 06-09-2019 12:07 AM

Sorry for you guys still living in CA, but that's great news for me here in MS. He worked on and tuned my 02 Z when I lived in So Cal, and that was the only thing about CA that I missed when I moved. I have currently been looking for a shop near me but if Ryne opens up in TX I might have to make a road trip.
