More C4’s in the movies
 

There's a pretty good chance a c4 is going to hold the actual solo Cannonball record before the end of 2018.

Chuck Norris drove one in Hero and the Terror.

Explain a little without spilling too much of the beans if you would/can.

I was asked to help solve some problems related to the car, which is how I found out that Cannonball wasn't just a fictional movie. It was a real race back in the 70s.
These days there are no longer any organized events (obviously), but every so often someone will run the same route, as fast as possible. And, when all things are considered, the c4 cars are nearly perfect for this sort of thing. Really they only have one problem and that's the fact that an additional fuel cell has to be in the passenger compartment.

I did a lookup after you posted the initial post and there is a "Cannonball Run" rally. But it is not cross country and it costs $25,000 to be a part of it.

There are other rallys that cost big bucks to join. Earlier this summer, we had are doors blown off (because I was obeying the speed limit), but 3 of the cars from this rally.

They were hauling a** when they went by us heading south on I-77 towards Akron, then on to Columbus Ohio. 2 Lamborghinis and 1 other car I didn't recognize.

So those are all rally events people do for fun, and of course they drive fast and so on, but its not really anything like what the real race used to be. The original race was a timed event.

After the first Cannonball Run movies came out, Brock Yates turned the Cannonbal Baker into the One Lap of America, which also crossed the country, but was a rally which obeyed the speed limits.

Im only familiar with the event that did not obey speed limits.

In MacGyver there was C4 convertible. Does anyone remember this?

The grandkids were recently watching Karate Kid and the one main "bully" was driving a white early C4 his parents bought him. :) (wax on, wax off) :)

And there was a scene in 48 hrs or Another 48 hrs? Where there was a get-a-way in a red C4. They hauled ass backward, hit another car which kicked the car into a rockford turn and it sped away. I can't find a clip of it anymore though.
