you can be sure it will be no slouch in any of its forms; 500 hp 6.2 pushrod rwd, 800 hp 5.5 dohc tt rwd, or 1000+ hp gasoline/electric awd supercar. if this doesn't give you chills up and down your spine, your kundalini is still asleep, lol! holy hotlap, batman!

i hope they do a ring run before it's show date at detroit in january, or vir, but they are already testing at the ring so why not strike with a hot iron? they already have a good idea of its potential from their computer computations so it most probably depends on how spectacular the results are likely to be. what engine(s) are in the test cars; the pushrod, the tt or both? lots of interesting info to unfold shortly.

the detroit auto show starts january 14th, and the first corvette was unveiled on january 17, 1953; 66 years later........

oldsmobile had the name rights to "rocket". it would be nice if gm kept that. "Zora Rocket 800 hp 5.5 tt by Corvette" has a nice flow to it.

this is interesting: toyota bought rights to oldsmobile name in 2008, but isn't interested interested in "rocket". in my opinion, they bought the container and are ignoring the filet mignon.

one of the best car names ever, legend, is currently on the shelf by honda. i would never, never, NEVER have parked that one to imitate bmw's numbering system.

If the weight is low (3400-below) and the car has at least 500 hp I think the base model will hang with the current z06 and higher end models will surpass the current zr1 definitely.

Sorry but I'm going to hijack this thread a bit, what do experienced track racers think of how the mid engine car handled around the ring? Like, how does it go around corners based on your observation compared to say, the camoed zr1 last year at the nurburgring?

Considering the current ZR1 is taking the record from the Ford GT at some tracks and is close at the others, GM will have a very capable car once we see the "Z06 or ZR1" models, whatever they decide to call them.

We have no solid facts regarding powertrain, suspension or weight. But sure, let's speculate on track records :rolleyes:

It'll set all the records. Every single one. From the Nurburgring all the way down to the go kart track at the mini golf place down the street. Put a pie in the engine bay and it'll win the county fair baking contest too. It'll weigh 2900 pounds, it'll have 1200hp, dealers will only park them indoors on specially made red carpets, and GM will give $20,000 discounts to every one of us as thanks for our devotion to the #BRAND.
