96 Formula WS6
Picked up a pretty "rare" Bird. Only 24 of these were produced w these options.
Black, Hard top, Formula WS6 w M6 trans, gray cloth. 34K miles. She is going to be fun to build. https://imageshack.com/i/plAXJUUcj https://imageshack.com/a/img922/629/uSxCgO.jpg Picking it up in a couple of weeks. |
Very nice! I had a very similar, newer 2000 Formula WS6. White, hard top, cloth interior, etc. Only 632 LS1 powered WS6 Formulas were ever made. This was mine:

Very nice.... I used to own an 01 Firehawk… It was the one that got away.
|
How much did you pay? I really have no idea what that might go for...
|
Lets just say that I got a very good deal considering that you cannot find these. Most especially with 34K miles....

I bought one back in '07 with 8k miles on it, I lost interest in it several years ago but I just can't sell it so it sits around. It's a red '97 Formula WS6 with something like 22-23k miles that is supposedly 1 of 1. Mine is weird in that i's a stripper car i.e. crank windows, manual door locks, no leather on steering wheel, etc. but it has t-tops when you would expect it to be a hardtop. My best friend has a black hardtop '97 Formula WS6, good choice on the black it looks really sharp on those cars. I've had a couple LT1 cars that I've modded over the years including this one, send me a PM if you ever have any LT1 specific questions or need LT1 mod recommendations. They are a little different beast than the LS stuff. I don't have any good pics on my computer but this is what I do have: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...543bd6d99d.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...be69d31415.jpg |
UPDATE....
So the deal fell through... I drove 5 hrs to pick the car up last Monday. As the owner and I agreed on a price. I get there, the dash has screw holes where a tach had been bolted to it ( not disclosed) one of the headlights was grinding when it open closed ( not a big deal but wasn't mentioned) Other than those things I was still prepared to buy the car. The guys WIFE came out after my test drive and told him ( in front of me) that he wasn't asking enough for the car...??? I was like you GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! Suffice to say he attempted to add $750 to the price... Which doesn't seem like much... But at that point it was the principle of the whole experience. I was pissed to say the least.. I sold my 97 WS6 about two years ago.. It was pristine w both WS6 wheels and some FIKSE FM5's.. In retrospect I wish I had kept it. I too am an LT1 fan... They are great engines when maintained. I like the fact that yours is a stripper..Fun cars for sure. I have a couple of other cars I am considering. An 01 Formula Firehawk 109K miles... and oddly enough a 94 Z28 w 56K miles.. Both 1 owner cars. The Z28 is a pretty rare color that you never see.(Medium Patriot red) the Firehawk is white. My former WS6... https://imageshack.com/i/po5hIIJHj https://imageshack.com/i/pmDfAxtRj |

Sorry to hear the Formula WS6 deal fell through. It’s BS they pulled that on you especially given how far you traveled. I would have walked due to principal as well, you did the right thing. Your old WS6 is awesome, love the Fikse wheels, I’ve wanted FM5 or FM10s for years. Old friend of mine once had and unfortunately totaled a medium patriot red ‘94 Z28, one of my favorite colors on those cars. |
Here is the 01 Firehawk that I am considering as well. 109K.... one owner, All documentation since new. M6... Its pretty nice.

Sealed a deal on the 01 Hawk today... Should have it in my possession in a couple of weeks.

According to SLP Firehawk Registry. It is 1 of 5 2001 Formula Firehawks built in Arctic white, M6, T tops.

GL with search... I looked all over the US for mine. Found it up in KY... |
Trust me, she loves me and supports my addiction as well. I have the room. :) She just doesn't understand why we need another car. Debating between a Firehawk convertible or the 99 Trans Am Anniversary convertible.

Love the 99 30th Anny Cars.... EBAY is your friend on those... Plenty to chose from... The Firehawk Vert, Not so much. You'd have better luck finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow riding atop a unicorn. lol
