Chrome vs Black - Side by Side
 

Hey Guys,

Just bought a set of Chrome Rims for my Z51... I like the black, but they just didn't offer enough contrast (dark car, dark rims, dark tires)... Ive posted before and after shots for anyone who is trying to decide between chrome and black rims - Im not saying one is better than the other - but for me I needed more contrast. The black will be my rims when "driving", the chrome will be my rims when "showing"...

Lookin' good! Agree that I want my rims to provide contrast without detracting from the overall "look" of the car... Pink rims would distract from the car.... :rofl:

I have chrome as well and they are super easy to keep clean.

have you looked at the machine faced wheels? best of both worlds. i had them on my '15 stingray and now my '17 GS.

Thunder22 has an idea that straddles both sides--LOL (that's what I ordered on mine).

Definitely the Chrome Rims! Not a fan of black rims.

Looks more aggressive with the black!

The stingray emblem looks out of place with the black rims. The chrome provides a nice contrast with the darker color of your car. Both sets look good in direct light. I think in the shady side, the black rims would lose definition. Nice to be able to choose.

Also looks like you ran out of money and couldn't afford chrome.

Or had chrome rims and had them powder coated black.

To each his own, but those black wheels looks worn and neglected. Unfortunately, I think that is not uncommon with the painted black oem finish. Upgrade to gloss black powder coat with a clear coat to fix that problem. See some of my wheels in the for sale section. :thumbs:
