C1- 9.00-15 M&H slicks fit?

The 9.00x 15 M&H Racemaster nostalgia slicks are 10.3" wide on a 7 inch rim, and 27 inches tall. Any problem putting them on the back of a 62 with 3" back spacing? They shouldn't be too tall to fit inside the wheel well opening should they.

what is the width through the sidewalls? I have 215x70x15 on 7" rims with 4.5 backspacing. I can get a finger between the sidewall and the spring, so the 3" bs won't be a problem on the inside; but you may have a problem in the outside

I am a dork. 10.3" is the section width. The slicks are the old 7 inch wide tread width stock class offering. Maybe a 3 1/2 rear spacing might work better for me. Or even run a 6 inch rim.

your BIG problem is going to be the outside, tread width will not be the problem. I had had 8" corvette rally wheels (4" bs, and I can't remember exactly maybe G70 15 tires) and the sidewall hit the lip on the outside; had to raise the back with airshocks
if you can find out the section width of a 215x70x15 you can figure out how close inside and outside the tire is going to be. remember, finger width space between sidewall and spring on the inside with the 7" (4.5bs) I am running

Thanks Bill, that helps.

I have a set of those M&H slicks mounted on 15X7 Cragar SS wheels with 4 inch backspacing for my 57 Corvette project. This is with the stock rear end but it will eventually have either a 9 inch Ford or a Dana 60 and will be 1/2 inch wider on each end for additional clearance. Either that or will move the springs inboard of the frame rails for additional tire clearance. As you can see, there is NO clearance with this combination. Your wheels with 3 inch backspacing "should" be OK.
