85 Vette with 4+3 Doug Nash tranny. This Vette was mostly a basket case. Everything is basically back together. Ready to fire it up this weekend. This cable is hanging out near the overdrive unit. I have the filter, fluid and goo to fill the OD, I don't want to do that until I know where this cable goes and how to install it. Thanks much, Bernie

That's the throttle pressure cable. Should go from the throttle to the overdrive. It could be that they swapped it for a later unit that didn't use one, otherwise there would be a hole.

Everything is original. The car was somewhat of a basket case, it's basically all back together, I'm hoping to get it started this weekend Before I do that I want to make sure the OD has everything hooked up, change the filter, put the 'goo' on the pan and fill it with ATF.

So there must be some kind of hole on top of the OD. I have to look for it. What does the long tube like part connect to inside the od?

Like jv9999 said you could have a later year which in that case it would be a remove, if you find you have the mounting like shown in one of the replay. Then you need to reconnect it, when remove the pan hopefully you will find an arm on the valve body to connect it to. I will try to find a picture and post it.

I bought the car from the original owner.
