Oil leak

my 2017 base vert has just turned to 20k miles I've had the car for almost 2 years its had the A8 reflash, triple flush, torque converter replaced, serviced by the dealer all the time. Now I take the car out for breakfast with the wife and come back to find a spot of oil in the carport. I check my sons car, the wife's car, daughters, brothers, even all the golf carts. not one leaking oil. I said to myself it cant be coming from my corvette. So out comes the flashlight and low and behold its the corvette. The car was serviced about 2k miles ago along with a full check-up for my trip to the tail of the dragon. The dealer gave the car a clean bill of health. The oil looks like it's coming from the rear of the engine, the filter is dry. Its just another trip to the dealer.

Dealer just called, The good news is that it was in fact the oil filter that came loose. I told them the same tech that put the filter on had to make the repair. Now I will be watching that like a hawk.

If the guy can't tighten a filter properly, I'd want a *different* tech.

How could the filter be dry if it was leaking oil?

^ While driving, air forces oil drips back. Looks dry if you’re crouching down looking underneath
