Oil filter question

Asked a question over on the ZR-1 Registry site, but not a single response, so I’ll ask the question again. Asked a friend to buy a couple of AC Delco PF970c oil filters for me while in the USA. Came back home to Oz with Mopar MO-090.
Are they the right filter for the LT5 and are the ok?. I’m sure someone out there knows👍🇦🇺

I’m not sure about the Mopar filters but I do use the Bosch filter 3401 I think is the number. You pay for everything I’d be glad to pick up a few and send them your way.

Gee, thanks for the offer Jeff. Really appreciate that. but I have since placed an order with Zip for parts for both my ‘61 C1and the ZR-1 and have some AC Delco filters coming.

Cheers, Russell

Sorry nobody answered you on the Registry. If you go over to zr1specialist.com you will see a complete break down on filters that are recommended for the ZR1. As of this date the Bosch 3401 is the recommended filter. The current production AC filter looses a lot of the oil with the anti drain back not one of the better ones. The older AC filters worked fine as compared to the new ones. I have one of the old filters I bought back around 2001 that I am saving. Not sure why. I am currently using the Bosch filter. I have used the K&N in the past but like the Bosch and will keep using them. But check out Mark Haibeck's website very informative { zr1specialist.com } . Mark knows his stuff.

agreed. I tried all of them and agree with marc and settled on the bosch 3401 advance auto and many chains can get it easy. sorry the zr1 net didn't come through, try the search tool there and you will see lots of good stuff

Cross Reference for Mopar MO-090

Regarding your Mopar MO-090 filters...….It appears that it does not match Mobile 1-M1-207 or AC Delco PF970C

But to Verify...…..
What is the outside diameter of the rubber seal of the oil filter? (it should be a flat seal and not an "O" ring).

What is the thread size in the Oil Filter?

And just for a casual interest......what is the height of the Oil Filter and do you have a photograph of the Oil Filter (Mopar MO-090)?

You have the Mopar MO-090 filters...….I do not. I use Mobile 1 M1-207 oil filters in all Zs.

I can tell you if you provide information if your Mopar MO-090 oil filter will fit but I cannot tell you if it is good or not :D

Got my order from Zip which included 4 x AC Delco, so l could do a comparison. Physical dimensions of the canister is the same. Gasket/seal,same size. Threaded hole is 1mm larger on the AC Delco and it’s 37 grams heavier. Soooo the Mopar definitely won’t fit. Thanks for everyone’s input.
cheers, Russell
