looking for best satin black paint

For use on under hood areas and blacking out trim and door handles.
I was going to use DP-90 but am finding it is not tough enough for a top coat, I do like the e-coat look of it tho.
I have added flattening agent to awlgrip before but don't really like the look.
so any suggestions for a satin black hard enough for door handles?

Thanks

A Urethane product would probably be tough enough for that application. Summit racing has a decent selection of black satin finishes.

Suggest investigating PPG Delfleet Essential. They have a factory pkg Flat Black or you can take the Gloss and add flattening agent to make semi gloss
or any sheen you can experiment to your liking
Its a single stage urethane with a hardner component.

SEM Hot Rod Black. It comes in a kit. Did my engine compartment and under side of the hood with it. Very durable and I think it looks great.

Underfloor is SPI Primer with small amount of Reducer so as to make it flow out smooth.

Firewall Pics are PPG Delfleet Semi Gloss MIx

Thanks all!
I think I will give SPI a try.. The ppg high end stuff like dp-90 is stupid expensive.
I have tried the eastwood 2k rattle can stuff and was not to impressed, and you have to use the whole can at once.

Thanks again for the suggestions

you have to topcoat it. if its on the handles otherwise it will fade and chalk up.
hit it with satin clear. or basecoat black and satin clear.

porchdog 09-21-2018 09:50 PM

black spi epoxy has uv protection in it. it will not fade or chalk .

Delfleet Essential Semi Gloss Mix

Greetings,
Your Delfleet Essentials semi gloss looks awesome! Can you tell me how to replicate your mix ratios? I plan to use SPI epoxy primer also.
Thanks!
