New member, traded in C6 Z06 for C7 Z06

I had a 2006 Z06 and traded it in for a 2015 Z06 3LZ M7 (without Z07 option) about a month ago. Just had the suspension update done yesterday. The 2015 Z06 is a bit faster than the 2006, but the main improvement is the electronics like traction control and the electronically controlled differential. On the 2006 Z06, traction control didn't seem to work, but on the 2015 Z06 it works, although it takes about 1/4 second or so to kick in if the tires break loose from a roll on application of the throttle. Other features like the brake hold when stopped facing up hill are nice, as well as all the driving modes (tour, sport, track), and the performance camera (my first accessory purchase for the car was a 64GB SD card and 64GB USB stick (I formatted both to FAT32)).

I also have a 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle.

Hello and welcome!

Thanks for the welcome all. I forgot to mention that the Hayabusa power to weight ratio (including rider) translates into a C7 Z06 having 900 hp (800 rwhp), but the rider position masks the sensation of acceleration, and the rider's head is almost as high as in an SUV, and it all combines so that the apparent speed is much less than the actual speed. In the car, you feel the acceleration more, you're much lower, so the apparent speed is much faster in the Z06 compared to the bike. The newer bikes have even more power, but acceleration on my bike and the newer bikes is wheelie limited, so 0 to 60 mph or even 0 to 80 mph (1st gear redlines at 80 mph on the Busa), is about the same, while 1/4 mile time on a ZX14R (8.5% greater power to weight ratio) is about 0.25 seconds faster (9.75 versus 10.0 for a magazine tester). In the C7 Z06, 0 to 60 mph or even a roll on in 1st gear is traction limited and takes more skill. The traction control works, but the tires will spin for about 1/4 second before the traction control kicks in. Better throttle inputs to keep the tires just a bit above the traction limits should also reduce tire spin time, but I haven't experimented with this as I rarely accelerate that hard. I assume that using track mode with one of the PTM mode would reduce the tire spin time, but not sure if the stiffer suspension would reduce weight transfer to the rear tires. Anyway both the bike and the Z06 are fun to drive, just in different ways.
