HPR 468 LS7, WCCH Brodix BR7 heads, and G1Pro custom billet intake build

Well I decided my H/C/I LS7 625rwhp wasn’t enough N/A power for a daily driver. Lol!! So now I have Erik at HPR building me a 468 LS7 N/A monster. Here are the specs I have so far.

GM LS7 block with Darton sleeves
K1 4.250 stroke crank cut down to except small journal bearing rods
Callies small journal bearing rods
HPR custom 4.185 dome pistons by CP
HPR custom hydraulic cam 26*/27*....74*/74*...112 lsa
Brodix BR7 BS heads done by WCCH with Ti intake valves and inconel exhaust valves
G1Pro custom billet with long runners (7inch runners with 10% taper full radius bell mouth)
PAC springs
Crower 1.8 shaft mount rockers with needle bearing tip
Katech “red” ported oil pump
C5R timing chain.
compression will be around 13.0 since I will be running E85.
ARH 2inch headers with off road 3inch xpipe. Can’t decide wether to keep my Corsa exhaust or dump it
Goal is 700+rwhp

Killer sounding combo! One question.... will that G1pro manifold deliver enough air at high rpm?
Assuming you will be spinning it to at least 7k...

Looks great man. Looking forward to the final numbers.

This will be fun!

Ironically, that's almost my build as well LOL
I'll be running a different intake, though.

Me to. Erik says we should be 700-725rwhp. We will see.

Nice!

Just as a note, the Hinson c7r chain is 150 on amazon. I think hinsons web site even recommends the c7r chain these days.

Just a though, it’s pennys in difference on the cost.

double06 09-25-2018 07:27 PM

When will it be done?

Jayfabs 09-25-2018 10:14 PM

Badass!!

I hope to have the motor complete in the next 2 to 3 weeks. And my builder will have it for about a week installing everything

awesome!! What size motor are you doing? Heads? What intake?

Mordeth 09-25-2018 10:37 PM

Awesome build. Sub'd.

For the timing chain, I'd stick with the Katech C5R chain. There is no evidence that the Hinson "C7R" chain is superior in any way. Further, Katech never once broke a C5R chain when they built motors for the factory Corvette racing team, and that included the 24 hours at LeMans endurance races. It's a race derived, race tested and proven chain.

Not questioning you, as the Katech C5R chain has been proven.

But have there been any reports of the Hinson C7R chain broken? I haven’t seen any, but if there are it would be nice to know before I go in on the C7R chain as well lol.

There should have been a C6R chain to rule them all...

Not that I know of, and the Hinson chain is likely made by the same manufacturer (IWIS)..

However, the Katech C5R chain is also the same chain as was on the C6R and currently on the C7R. It's just called a C5R chain. It's made to Katech's specifications and has never failed in endurance race conditions from C5R to C7R. Same chain all along and same chain you can buy.
