Forgestar wheel color change

Got a set of Forgestar F14's in matt black. I like the wheels but getting tired of black. Scared of buying another set sight unseen with a new wheel color. You just never know what the actual color looks like till you see it in person. I was thinking about taking it to a wheel refinisher in the DFW area. Look at colors (gunmetal, smoked grey, titanium) or leave it natural with a brushed aluminum look. Has anyone done this with Forgestar wheels or any other brand?

Were you happy with the results?

Cost?

I changed the color on a set of forged wheels about 6 years ago. Went from chrome to a gunmetal silver /clear gloss powdercoat.
IIRC, the cost was around 900 bucks for the set of four.

Personally, I would start with plastidip ot a similar removable coating. See how you like the colors, and of you decide you want a different color, have them redone or try to swap for someone who wants black.

Contact Powder Coaters in your Part of Texas using the search engine at Prismatic Powder Coatings ????

Explore your options for stripping (shot blasting) the Matte Black off your current wheels

I would then investigate having your old "stripped" wheels polished in a Vibratory Machine
/Shaker Machine using Ceramic or Aluminum media.

Then "your" Powder Coater of choice could add brush finishing and coat with Prismatic (brand)
Lightly Tinted #5633

That is exactly what I want to accomplish. Thanks for the post and details!
