What HEADLIGHTS should I use in a 1985

I have the stock wiring harness. I would prefer to take advantage of the recent advances in headlight tech that has happened in the past 10 years. What are the best plug an play? HID?

Everyone on here likes LED. I'm planning on getting some myself soon.
