C4 Bushings
 

Hello!
I've already the stock bushings in my 1992 Vette.
Now it's time to change it.
I've installed a KW Automotive Coilover suspension kit (instead normal shocks with Leaf spring).

There are different types of polyurethan bushings kits for the C4. I find black and red one from Prothane and Energysuspension. Both manufactures means the hardness of both color types are the same. Don't know what they are using for - street or race?

Powerflex built different hardness with color code: yellow for street, purple for performance and black for race. But they don't produce bushings for the Corvette.

Do you know other manufactures. I'm looking for a street version. What woul be your experience?
The KW coilover is very strong/hard for street driving and i don't want to get the car more harder than yet.

Both high energy and prothane sell street/ track urethane bushings, the color has no meaning. Red is noticeable or "showy", black doesn't stand out snd may pass for stock at a glance.
i have prothane they do add to a rougher ride and noise on irregular surfaces.

There is a new offering that just came out this year. They are a bit more pricey than the urethane bushings. The company that makes them is out of Australia and supplies bushings for lots of autos. The companies name is SuperPro. I found it best to look at the Australian (home company site).

Summit Racing is carrying them, not for C4 Corvettes though. At this time there are only 2 businesses in the US that have them. I found them doing some searches one evening. (the original company and then found out that another place I deal with is associated with the 1st and is carrying them for the same price and shipping, ie: free).

Super Pro states that their warranty is:

I will be putting a set of these in the batwing of the Dana 44 I am rebuilding for installation into my 96 A4 LT1 car.

Talked to this guy. Bought his kit. Have yet to get them installed.

I wouldnt worry too much about the color - its a personal preference, just go with Prothane or Energy kits.
Polyurethane is fine for street use, certainly much better than 20 or 30 year old rubber !
Ive got Poly, rubber, rod ends, and duralum in my suspension and dont have any issues with excessive harshness from any of them, but I guess thats a personal thing.
