Take a heat gun or hair drier and soften the glue and remove it. Then take some goo be gone and get rid of the rest That was a popular aftermarket thing.

A few years ago someone made replacemen units for all the wood. He did a great job and looked so much better. The problem is that he was a home swood worker with a high degree of skill. which would be difficult to replicate/4

My 87 had it when i got it. Took 2weekends to get it off, but was well worth it. Factory plastics look clean and simple....

IMO it is gross. Remove it.

If you have a 1984 thru 1989 Vette, it is mandatory to have a wood dash kit and to top it off, a wood steering wheel

Well c3's had some pretty nasty interior mods....

If you remove it be prepared to break a trim piece or two. Anything that has thin sections be careful., especially around the gauges. You might want to consider getting a new one just in case. If you need it you have no down time, if not, you've got a spare.

I just had a thread on spraying the interior pieces. i did it on my '90. worked fine. I went with matte finish.

removed the wood from my 86

It was put on using double sided tape and that was a bear to get off but rubbing alcohol worked. I gave the kit away on the forum. I'm pretty sure that this kit drilled some holes that were not there to start with on my dash ... don't know what to do about those.

Leather ??

Has anyone tried wrapping the dash pieces in early C4 in black leather ? Or the dashpad ?

My second 35th had this. Kind of grew on me actually, though the pieces on the Bose speakers in the doors looked out of place.

What matters is what you like...…...it's your car.

If YOU like it, that's all that counts. If the crowd doesn't like it, they don't have to look at it. Enjoy your car dude!
