Best renderings yet. Man, everything looks great about this car except for the rear end and tail lights (way too Camaro-esque)- too "blocky" and not sleek/sexy.

love it... best rendering yet. Fingers crossed.

Can someone chop the spoiler off the picture of the rear? I think that makes it look a lot more camaro-esque and blocky and not egg or rounded like you see most mid engine cars (ferrari 488, mcLaren, NSX, etc.)

Hips, but not blocky as the spoiler is not there:

Anyone else not seeing these??? They're all X'd out.

Edit: comes up on my phone... looks nice with the black out grill bits. Not a fan of the ZR1 wheels.

I have to agree these renderings are much better than some of the previous ones I've seen.

Ted P 10-09-2018 01:58 PM

agree it's the best one but that back end is off. I don't think it's droopy like this one but flatter (and bigger)

fyreline 10-09-2018 02:12 PM

I think we're getting very, very close now. What a great-looking car.

Nice renders but God awful looking car. This Vette of all Vettes should have an outrageous design. This doesn't even look like a Vette. There is so much riding on this car. This is an old fashioned design which was modelled from a C8R spy shot which is still acceptable for Vette fans. I don't know how to draw what the next Vette should look like.
Another thing, this render does not address airflow, particularly the hot air coming from the center coolant rad. Where's it going to go? The 488 hot air goes over the roof and cold air goes into the split intake on top of the rear 1/4. One channel goes directly into the intercooler mounted in front of the rear wheels. The C8 intercooler is on top of the engine. You can't just draw pretty pictures without knowledge otherwise they turn out looking like this. The top 488 was taken at Imola last week in cold weather so intakes have been closed off.

Two things that throw me. The roof shape in the first shot (second shot makes it look fine) and that back end. I don't know what it is about that back end, but I hope live shots make it look good. Every render just makes the tail look extremely awkward to look at. Doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the design of the car.

Those side scoops are just plain hideous. :ack:

Let's hope the actual car looks a LOT better then these renderings!

AORoads 10-09-2018 03:28 PM

It looks VERY MUCH like a Corvette to me---no mistaking it for any other car if all the "cues" are correct---from headlight to tail light. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but if this is it, this is it.

Let's hope the camouflager is an absolute genius.

I like the side scoops, it's a defining feature of the car and makes it look less generic. And they are sculpted in a nice shape, not too harsh with the lines but just aggressive enough. Not to mention it's completely functional.

Renders vs Reality

Be it good or bad, the real deal is not as low, wide and sleek as these renders. The greenhouse is also shorter on the real thing and the mouth is larger.

I don’t like this cars proportions. Front wheel is way too big. The rear looks like training wheels! Grill is huge and the tail is too small. And those headlights! They are too long and pointy and that belt line looks very low!

no sir... don’t like it. Not one bit,,,

... how’d I do?

pretty sure the images you are worried about are fisheyed. The overlays prove the proportions will be similar to the C7. Belt line and all.

Relax and hold on. All will be revealed soon and you will be happy... or not! ; )

The rear is an abomination. I hope to God it looks nothing like that in the rear.

FrankLP 10-09-2018 07:47 PM

Appreciate the effort, but that render has all kinds of "stuff" going on (wrong)... the front fascia and it's "twisted" supports in the grill area was enough to... well... I'll just leave it at I appreciate effort.
