One more scoop
I'd love to see a roof mounted scoop on the high performance version C-8 ala this

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
|
Is that for deep water?
|
Would not likely ever see GM go that exotic.
But I agree with you.....the lid air intake is very exotic. Like it very much. |
Hey look, a crutch for an improperly designed intake system/improperly designed cabin ventilation system. (Depends on the car)
My opinion? Rice. |
Looks like an afterthought for a poorly designed intake system.

I know of three people buying one of those who optioned for the $30,000 roof scoop. They say the intake noises are insane due to the scoop being right above your head. It's $30,000 because Mclaren Special operations had to make a new roof of carbon fiber and then redo the entire intake manifold, then test the setup for reliability and functionality. It's more of a throwback to the Mclaren F1 GT than a performance option, but i think it's worth it if you have the money. Resale value on roof scoop mclarens is usually $30,000 more than usual, so the option actually holds value.

That's what I'm gonna do. Tack on a roof scoop, hook up LED lights that rotate between colors and a fog machine. (Fog machine to reduce intake air temperature and add cool smoke effect)

If J. C. Whitney built a car, this is what it would look like. Seems like McLaren has found yet another way to extract their customer's money from their wallets. Bless their hearts.

No.

NO. Just no.

Would look great with Lambo doors:
