3782461 x heads 461x Date J 6 0
Hello , i have these heads casting number 3782461 x and im trying to figure out the date which is marked J 6 0 , would that make these October 6 1960 ? Rare ? Any info is much appreciated Thanks

This head was cast October 6th 1960. It would have been used on a 1961 model year Chevrolet or Corvette. A photo of the end of the head showing the head marking cast in the head would be beneficial.

A 461X head, cast in Oct 1960, would ONLY, ONLY, ONLY have been installed on a 1961 fuel injected 283 Corvette engine. PERIOD!
There was ZERO use of 461X heads on pass car engines until 1962 models (300hp/327). |
