1996 LT4 T56 Z51 in Black
I have a 1996 Corvette with the LT4, ZF6 and Z51 option. It is a very well equipped car. I would rate it a 8.5 out of 10. Factory paint and factory interior. There are some chips in the paint and some fading in the interior or it would be a 10. Car has 76,000 miles on it. I have upgraded the stereo with a Kenwood touch screen with full navigation. Kickers mids and a JL Sub and 5 channel amp. Amp is located under the jack storage box. Sounds great and looks close to factory.
The intake does not leak as most LT1 and LT4s as I took it of two years ago and replaced the gaskets. I let it sit for a week before adding oil to fully set up. Doesnt leak a drop. New plugs and wires a few hundred miles ago. The optispark works perfectly. Never had any issues with it. I have the factory wheels with good tires. They are like new but a few years old. They have been stored inside in a heated garage since I took them off the car. I have replaced the power steering pump with a TopOne model designed to handle the higher RMPs of the LT4. Im thinking $13,000 range. Let me know your thoughts. This is a very nice very hard to find car. I don't have to sell it... I might wait till spring. I opened a used car lot and could use the cash for more inventory. I don't really drive the car, she just sits in the corner under a cover. Tend to drive my 2015 Z28 more. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...7f4527d4ce.png https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...d54ecedb10.png https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f8be538008.png https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f6ef61b2a6.png |
I think you mean ZF6 not T56. |
That was what I was going to ask, has the car been converted to a t56 or is it the factory af 6 speed?
I think you have a great car, and frankly I think 13k is CHEAP. It's probably more of a 15k car. rare, clean, and looks great. Good luck, I'm sure this will sell fast at full price. |
Trade you a mean ass girlfriend for the truck in the background! Cant give her back LOL

Just my opinion, and it's not meant to be insulting, but
I think it might be priced a little high, in spite of what others think. I had a '96 black vert in that same condition and when it was wrecked by a drunk, the insurance company gave me $10,500.00 for a Vette with only 44,000 miles on it! However, I DO like the wheels and the stripes! |
Was yours a Z51?
|
No, it was just plain stock.
Does the Z-51 add that much to the value? Not criticizing...just asking... |

OK, C-5,
Thanks for the clarification. I bet there are a few people out there who might have something and not know what it is or what it's really worth. I still prefer a vert but as I said, I really like the stripes and the wheels! |
Is it still available?

Alright. PM sent.

I think it's priced pretty close to market.
Only thing I can say is the stripes would keep me from buying it, if I were in the market. That and 22 year old Z51 equipment doesn't add much if any value as everything that's not a hard part needs replaced, shocks included. My 99 SS Camaro with all 55k miles just had every suspension but replaced. Take this with a grain of salt, but as someone who has spent more on mods for a car than you're asking, mods don't add value. You may already know this. Good luck with the sale and enjoy that Z28. It's an awesome machine. |
TLS, I'm not sure about the mods, but years ago
a lot of optional equipment wasn't worth anything on a trade in. I'd bet the stripes are vinyl and can be removed. |

It's an awesome machine. Tell that to anyone buying a 1969 Yenko Camaro. Yes, a 2009 Camaro will destroy a 69 in all performance aspects. Who cares... Its about having the car you wanted or that others wanted back in the day. I know I could by an 84 corvette, put a LS7 in it, giant tires and coil overs. It would be a track monster but it would still be a $5,000 car that anyone can get. LT4 Z51's are very rare and king of the hill in my book. There are guys like me that are willing to spend big bucks to have something special. Im not into clone cars. I would rather go with out. This car has new bilstine Z51 replacement struts on it. Was like $1400 or some stupid amount.... but I kept them factory. |
Respectfully disagree on some points but agree on others. I stated nothing of comparing various iterations of the same model.
My 99 SS will have roughly $32k in mods alone at the end of next month when my motor arrives. The car isn't worth more than $12-$15k on the open market. My last Vette approached $20k in mods by the time it had 3k miles on it. I know that Rabbit Hole all too well. lol It's a disease but 625-650 rwhp without a power adder should be a hoot in this little mullet mobile SS. Nothing in my response was regarding what car out runs what for X dollars or for how old it is.....etc So not sure the point you're making about the 09 Camaro. And I think they started in 2010. Nobody mentioned anything about a clone car. Again I'm not sure what you're trying to justify to my response as I never indicated anything of the sort. Anyone can buy an 84 but not many can buy the car, the LS7, tranny to take the power, upgrade the wimpy Dana 36, buy the $3k shocks, new springs...etc. But if they did it would be one hell of a fun car. You asked for opinions so I gave you mine. Nobody is busting down your door to buy it but I still think it is priced accordingly. It's a nice car. For the amount you're asking I would just keep it and look at it in the garage and smile and maybe drive it once in a while. You don't seem like the guy who is hurting for money being forced to sell his car. No disrespect to you, your car, or your price. Maybe, just maybe we view the car in a slightly different light is all. Good luck with the sale and I hope whoever buys it does not destroy it. Local dealer had a purple 96 LT4 when I was in high school and I wanted my dad to buy it in the worst way. |
