1971 LS-5 Coupe Numbers Matching 4 Speed in OH

I recently restored a 1971 LS-5 coupe. It is a numbers matching 4 speed, AC car in Nevada silver with black interior. Motor has less than 300 miles since the rebuild. Car is located near Dayton, Ohio. I have 80% of a deteriorated tank sticker that is almost illegible. $37,000 FIRM. I did the following to the car after I purchased it:
  • Removed the body and painted it the original Nevada silver in base coat / clear coat (I am a painter). The paint is awesome.
  • Sand blasted the frame and suspension, epoxy primer, and top coated with a black to match the factory sheen. All bushings and u-joints were in great shape, so they were not replaced.
  • When I purchased this vehicle the engine had been rebuilt. I spoke with the shop to confirm this to be fact and I possess this receipt.
  • I was told the transmission had been rebuilt. No documentation of this, but I did pull cover and it looked perfect. This was enough to satisfy me.
  • New exhaust manifolds were purchased with the proper date codes
  • Rebuilt GM water pump with the proper date code was installed
  • Under the cap electronic ignition replaced the points
  • New coil, cap, rotor, wires(no shielding
  • Had the original factory radiator re-cored
  • Resurfaced flywheel, new clutch and pressure plate
  • There was a rust hole the size of a dime at the top of the windshield frame. This was the worst of minimal rust this car had and it was properly addressed.
  • New fuel and brake lines
  • New fuel tank pick up and sending unit
  • All new vacuum relays and actuators and hoses
  • Bumpers were professionally re-chromed (better than reproductions).
  • All new wiring harnesses throughout the car, new fiber optics as well.
  • All new interior and exterior light bulbs
  • New seats, carpet, dash pad, new console
  • Restored the GM rally wheels
  • New BF Goodrich tires

I have the sister car in my garage being restored right now. $40K seems like a really good deal if its what you say it is. Good luck!

What do you mean by the sister?

Does it have ps and do you have any information regarding owner‘s history? How long did you own it?

I just mean I have the same 1971 Nevada Silver LS5 4 speed, PS,PB,AC, rear defrost. Mine is in the middle of a frame off. I guess I just thought incorrectly that a correctly restored LS5 would be worth closer to 50? oh well.

I honestly don't know what it is worth.

I guess its worth what someone is willing to pay? I really hope you get every penny you are asking because I know how much you likely spent to restore it. Good luck.

Anything in particular you'd like to see?

bmackrell 10-23-2018 05:53 PM

just your standard full side shots, front & back, interior and engine bay. Undercarriage photos are always nice to show condition but I realize not everyone has a lift available. This looks like a really nice restoration but its a little hard to tell since the photos seem close up and basic. maybe it could be pulled outside and show more of the overall vehicle.
