How About a Near New 1995 ZR-1 C4 For a Weekend Car?
How About a Near New 1995 ZR-1 C4 For a Weekend Car?
By Sarah Portia This pristine time capsule from the '90s is everything you need to be totally rad. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...8cbd3e3d2a.jpg |
Totally rad? WTF? 1983 called - they want their lame saying back.
|
LMAO
This might be a dupe again. Also, no thanks to over priced zr1's. I don't care if it has 500 miles, I literally will not pay more than 18K for the best example of any kind of stock c4. Well, callaway I would if I was a collector. New technology and the car culture has forced these things in to a corner, not sure when people will get it. I hope they get what they want, but wow. |

Bingo! The new stuff has more hp, and better everything. Just the way it is. And, they made far too many of the C4 ZR-1s. Hell, they made 1/2 as many C6 ZR1s!

They I guess my 67 435HP coupe is practically worth nothing given that it is even older tech with better everything in even cheap cars today. And worse than that, they made more 67 435s than 405HP ZR-1s combined. Oh my word how worthless my C2 is.
Maybe you are lost. This is the C4 forum. This thread is about the C4. That is the fourth generation Corvette produced from 1984 through 1996. We drive C4s because we don't have a spare $100K lying around to waste on a garage queen POS that we'd be afraid to take out of the driveway. Yes, your C2 is worth precisely zero to ME. Welcome to the C4 forum. |

C4 ZR1 is a collectible for sure, but for the money you can buy a low mileage C5 Z06 and have money left over for some nice performance upgrades.
|
that for another ten grand on that buy it now price, you can go get a nice new C7 instead The day of older cars & nostalgia being sought after is almost gone... DDS said it right, hard to ignore the facts. Bought right Id DD that thing til the wheels fell off. |

New technology? Are we talkin' pushrods, superchargers and more cubic inches = new technology?? Dang! I drove a '57 Ford with (then) a big 312cid V8 with a factory Paxton supercharger. Who'd a thunk I was experiencing the future "new" technology of a late model Corvette!? I guess someone better tell all dem other car makers that developed dem DOHC boat anchors to get wid da PUSHROD REVOLUTION!
The market /bubble for C2's etc is on its way out. Kids don't care. I'm mid life and I watch a ton of stuff on youtube since 2005, been to car shows, and I usually pay attention to people. I have said it a million times... the 70's gas embargo created the void for life as people knew it with hot cars and hot women in them, or just buddies burning rubber. The only reason for a million kid these days and there are more no than ever would buy a c2 for the most part is to flip it to an old guy. Of course this is a generalization but I think a pretty fair one. Exotics are the way of the future... Imagine why a corvette might actually finally be doing it? Because of your statement, they are simply going to be left behind in the world of technology. . |

Welcome to the C4 forum. A weekend driver ending in expensive repair bills If you can find a local to fix it. If not, the bill includes a trucking fee. |
Well, current and upcoming new cars that has online tracking, data boxes, recording and transmitting everything you do (including saving all text from your phone), GPS coordinates. The government will eventually require a back door into the "exotics" and when the next generation of cars are constantly being hacked, and you realize you when you get a ticket in the mail for doing 90 mph because your car reported you, people may look back on today's C5,C4 and so on and think, they are a better choice. If you think I am paranoid, you just aren't informed.

Really? Try cutting one wire on a current new car and see if it doesn’t shut you down. |
