2004 Select ride magnetic shocks help

OK folks. Had a lot of help on my first original post, now I need one more.
Does anybody else besides Delco make f55 04 magnetic shocks that just drop in with no modifications to the system? Or does GM have a lock on shocks? I don't want to make any changes to the system. My car has only 24,000 miles and all four are leaking ( no codes coming up yet and still working) but I'd hate to buy Delco again at $500 each and won't make it to 30,000 miles! I love the select ride system and works fantastic, but there must be a longer lasting shock. Thanks to all of you!

Nope, proprietary to AC Delco/GM. You can try contacting Suncore Industries for a rebuild, I know they sell some remanufactured magneride shocks for GM SUVs. Premature failures/leaking on F55 shocks seem to be rare though, a few people have reported 80k+ on theirs.

Hi Daddy O,
This is for F55, not F45, right? I have a 2000 C5 with F45, I wanted to convert to F55. So I bought F55 shocks and controller many years ago. Andy at A&A Performance, who took the shocks off the donor car, didn't get the cables, so I was dead. (The owner of the other car was converting to fixed shocks.) I've had these on my shelf for likely 10 years, like new.

Send me a PM if you're interested in buying these.

Thanks, I'll check them out. Perhaps just being 14 years old caught up to them. Geez! If I could get 80,000 out of them I don't think I'd worry. I'd be room temp. By then

Yes, I'm interested. Thanks

Ok, I’ll take some pictures for you to review tomorrow.

I swapped mine out at ~85k miles. They were crap by that mileage, and also weeping lightly.

The F55 feature seems to be for comfort, not performance; modern mag ride can be very performant but the F55 ... well, unless it was WAY better new, it was never actually properly stiff even on the stiffest setting, and was way too loosey-goosey on the soft setting. I'd just throw in a set of C6Z06 shocks for ~$280 (total) and call it a day.

Hi Daddy O,
I finally took a new picture of the F55 shocks I have. Unfortunately, both of the rear shocks are leaking. The fronts seem OK. I didn't know this when I bought them, didn't know to look for that. So it wouldn't do much good to use the rears.

Seem like gimp has the best advice. I might even swap out my F45 shocks for the Z06 setup. My car has always been too soft.

Thanks sunvet for being honest. I'll just keep on plugging away until something comes up or I have to bite the bullet for new. Have about six months since it has snowed here two days ago. Long way to spring

FWIW, I spent about double the C6Z-shock price and got a set of viking shocks, double-adjustable. Quite nice. The C6Z shock (likely with some other C6Z suspension components for good matching rates) may be the best setup but there are a lot of potholes here so I like to be a little softer on the street and firmer on autox/track.

(Viking shocks are very similar to QA1.)

So if you were looking for adjustability at a reasonable cost, give them a peek.

OK guys, Thanks for all the advise. I made the choice, bit the bullet and bought new Delco mag shocks for f55. Yes, big bucks $1500 but I have never put any $ into her except for normal p.m. Since she's held up beautifully for all these years, I'm not complaining. I don't know if a got an unusual car or just lucky but My hat is off to the 04 C5's. Why would I buy new when I have a sweetheart . Thanks to all of you for your help and advise. You helped make my choice easy.

Real odd that they failed with so low mileage, these shocks are real robust! I love my magnetic ride also and so far no issue at 30k miles.
