12v fuse box power question

Ok so I had an under dash wire that shorted on a metal surface (thanks bubba) and I immediately lost 12v power to the "IGN" terminals on my fuse box (my tach died, and my EFI ECU handheld display lost power and it is plugged directly into the IGN terminal).

What supplies power to these terminals, as in where should I be checking? Is there a fuse for them somewhere?

What year? On the glass fuse fuseboxes - the ignition is fused by the "dir sig" " back up" 20A fuse.

Do fuse the wire plugged into the spade...a 16GU wire could easily light up before the 20A fuse blows

Oh sorry, 1979, so not the glass fuseboxes.

Is there anything on the 1979 protecting the ignition besides the fusible links?

The car will still start, I just don't have power to the switched power terminals.

I would think it would be fused. A fusible link is for "big" circuits. Definitely check your fuses.

Look at the LED type blade fuses- in the future -thanks to where the fusebox is located- having a blown fuse would light up and give you a visual.

That is super cool! Didn't know those existed.

Figured it out by pulling each fuse and checking. It ended up being the gauge fuse (if I remember right). Replaced it and had 12v power to the IGN ports on the fuse box again.

Thanks!
