New OEM Door Water Shield Installation [Adhesive/Caulking]
I am replacing the window regulator on my 2001 and the existing OEM door water shield is just falling apart, so I have a brand new one to install. [DEFLECTOR, FRONT RIGHT SIDE DOOR WATER, GM Part No.: 10263412] Searching for the correct adhesive/caulking used to keep the shield in place on the door. I don't want to use something too soft that may later melt in the extreme Texas heat or something that will later harden and not allow easy removal of the shield for repairs. I notice the existing OEM used by GM is still soft and pliable even after 17 years, so that's what I'm looking for. What to use or where to obtain similar?

Butyl tape.

I think I jumped the gun on my question so posting this for clarification and, or anyone else replacing their door water shield (deflector). The OEM deflector already comes with the butyl rubber attached. So it can be installed on the door right out of the box.

Sourced from GM or from an aftermarket dealer, such as Zip or Ecklers?
