Does the underside of this corvette look good to you?
Going to see this corvette on Saturday, and the underside of is for some reason looking weird to me.
https://www.streetsideclassics.com/v...rolet-corvette Maybe I'm just going nuts. |
It looks pretty good underneath , no sign of any oil leaks , old or existing. There is some yellow overspray so it was a yellow colour at a time. It looks like a nice original frame that hasnt' been in the rust area at all.

I think it looks great consider age of the car so hurry before someone else take it:thumbs:

This is what I have a problem with-
The front tires are NOT centered in the wheel wells- Last pic -tough to tell- but it doesn't look good.... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b7f0f8a302.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...f4e19551f4.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...e31779deb7.jpg |

Well, that’s certainly an issue. Any idea on how I should go about this if I still look at the car? this is what'll happen next- https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...m-failure.html http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g3...ps16f4a216.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g3...psc1180e3f.jpg |
There's clearly automatic shifter inside the cabin. Underneath, there was no evidence of a manual transmission. Consistent, but the underside doesn't look good
I love that they took a picture of the Haynes manual. |
yes, but it is eminently affordable! and the rotted squashed rear bushings are original!

This car is starting to worry me - I'll really get a good idea Saturday. Good eye on the front wheels and hood "prop!" I'll keep you guys posted.
I wish 73s were easier to come by in Atlanta. |
I don't know if you are interested in this due to the year/style..but I bought a 1995 with 29.800 miles for $12,900.
This one was a contender if I didn't get the 1995 in Central IL https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...aa1f4efe27.png |
For some reason I'm obsessed with the C3 bodystyle only. My Dad's got a C6, and its a fantastic, and powerful car, but it just doesn't do it for me in the looks department. Nor does the C4.

I bought my 73 L-82 4 speed a couple years ago- here in Atlanta for a little over 10K. The paint/body was excellent but needed trailing arms-tires- bushings- sorting out They are out there- https://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/c...713838961.html https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/c...720775874.html https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/c...718804128.html Also go to Caffeine and Octane- first Sunday of every month at Perimeter mall- I've seen a couple 73s for sale there. If wanting to buy from a dealer-and pay a premium- this one looks nice- http://www.buyavette.net/1973%20Corv...k%20416695.php And mine- shortly after I bought it- https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...8146272558.jpg |
Don't waste your gas money. |
Dont forget the prices for chromebumper cars has been going high the past 3 years or so even here in Sweden I guess increasing by 50% or more.
|
If you have someone that own a car like this try measure what is wrong. If it is the arms or the crossmember. And try look inside the the front to see if there are any repairs in the glassfiber usually they dont do so good painting if they repair it. And like Richard454 said try knock some $ of the asked price if you really want it. Try to check the front bodymounts also if they been tampered it will usually show.

Great catch on the frame and wheel location to body That baby played smash em' up and will need all sorts of work. I would not consider this car road worthy with this frame/ suspension damage. I would walk away. Other members noticed interior issues. You're talking thousands in repairs and you haven't even driven it around the block! Why limit yourself, search for a car somewhere else. Richard saved the day on this one. |
To the OP - you owe a bit of thanks to the members with scrutinizing eyes, and who responded to your post.
I'm just a tad surprised you haven't moved on to another car already. Good luck in your search. |

Yeah, it's really annoying. Guess I started existing, and being able to get into this a little late.
