Answer to why are C7's so ugly
This is part of an article from Consumer Reports about the worst cars they ever tested:
Somehow, the Pontiac designers managed to draw and push to production one of the ugliest cars ever made. Even from this distance and 17 years after the first Aztek saw the light of day, it is still a car with the design that makes no sense whatsoever. Simply, every design component and the car as a whole, is extremely ugly and the interior is also questionable. The Aztek designer later worked on a great-looking Corvette C7 and it is strange how he managed to do such a bad job at Pontiac. Maybe he had a bad day. Now we know "The Rest of the Story" |

There are a lot of styling disasters across the Autmobile industry.. like so many things in life you have to wonder .., how did something like this ever get this far.. it takes a lot of people to botch something this bad... |

I wouldnt mind if someone gave me an ugly C 7 - ZR1- lol |
You can say what you want about the C7, but it's hard to argue that it hasn't been a success.
All in all, I like the C7 and wouldn't mind having one. |

There's no doubt it's a performance success, but so were the C5 & C6 when they were fresh. And I'm not a C7 hater, I'll probably own one in a couple years. |

My "ugly" C7 Z06. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This car gets alot more positive attention than my current C6 or my last C6 Z06. It looks and performs fantastic in my opinion. The C7 Z06 styling is a little "busy", but generally works very well. The rear ends: I may like the C6 better. Both great generations IMO.

Don't know why C6 owners call the C7 ugly....it is not. Personally I am glad they went with a new design rather than just evolving the C6.
I like them both.:yesnod: |

I dunno, it would look a lot more successful (to me at least) if they produced less and sold for close to retail rather than making too many and having to give them away with several thousand in rebates and dealer discounts.

You wish the selling prices were higher?
Overproduction (if indeed that's what's going on) always benefits the consumer by depressing prices. Not terribly important but worth mentioning is the giveaway C7 prices affect C6 values. How many times have we seen "$XX,XXX for a C6 Z06/ZR1/427? Well you can get a C7 for that!" If your vette is your "forever car" then it doesn't matter, but for those of us who upgrade(?) every few years and depend on strong resale it makes a difference. |

He must have been the guy who designed the worthless cup holder and ashtray in my C6. |
