Another wrecked ZR1
5th one I have heard about: https://www.copart.com/lot/48326158 Wow, opening bid is 97k. Don’t think they’ll get any bids, do you? I wouldn’t think a ZR-1 repaired perfectly is possibly worth 97k due to the salvage title but maybe less. |
Cup 2 tire in pic
This post is mainly for folks ordering the ZTK package but havent taken delivery yet. I noticed the Cup 2 tire in the picture. Although getting the ZTK package myself, I did have the dealer install PSS’s on it before taking delivery and I sold the new factory Cup 2’s to another forum member. The net cost to me was ~$600. I had Discount tire direct ship the Pss’s to the dealer before my car arrived and had the dealer do the mount and balance to protect me from possible wheel damage. It was a safety concern in the wet that played the largest part in my decision. Is anyone keeping track of street accident rates of the Cup 2 vs PSS? On all Vettes. |

yea curious if aero is off from transport or if it's already been pilfered and on craigslist. opening bid is ridiculous based on other cars i've seen. that car alone repaired after an accident would be lucky to bring $100k IMO.

Believe this is a repeat of the white one that went into a curb a few months back in Michigan? Yea local craigslist ad is offering the SC cover New Corvette 2019. ZR1 B92 option carbon fiber hood insert GM part https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/f...726306142.html |

i don’t get how the insurance company would total this. Is the rule of thumb for a total being 75% of the cars value to render it totaled. Even if it was 50% and that car had depreciated to 100k with 359 miles on it. I don’t see 50k of damage on the surface. Must be some serious damage underneath. That being the case I don’t think this car is worth 40k. |

It might be the same car, but the total hasn't been reported to GM yet because the title doesn't showed as Branded in GM's system. Usually that happens fairly fast.
It's VIN # 435 (sold June 5, 2018) and was a ZTK optioned car before the wing was taken off the car. |

Have you had them in standing water yet? |

I was thinking about doing exactly the same thing Rinaldo, I put PS's on my 14 M7 Z51 and I love them. Temperature is not my concern, but heavy Florida rain and standing water on concrete overpasses in a ZR-ZTK without the weather mode (which is awesome) are.

It happens.

Go with the Pilot SS runflats and you can safely drive 60 mph in any rain. |

I have had PSS’s (non run flats on my C6 Callaway for several years now and driven them in several torrential downpours.. I like them very much. Much better than the cars original Goodyear F1’s. On the ZR1 I have the run flat version because its only available in runflat is our size. I like them very much, (but do prefer non run flat tires). I also have put a set of Michelin Pilot sport 4S ( 4th generation Pilot Super Sport) on my Audi RS5 not all season as some people misinterpret from the name. (275/30/20).. I like them better than the Pirelli P zeros that came on it. Go with the Pilot SS runflats and you can safely drive 60 mph in any rain. I've driven a C7 with the 4S's in the wet and I was impressed with them. So I too will be replacing the Cups with the 4S or the exact fit SS's before the ZR leaves the dealership - hopefully the last part of December or the first part of January. If any Forum member would like a set of zero-mile Cups please PM me and make me an offer I cannot refuse. I live in the Orlando area :) Cheers - |
Is that car AW or is it ceramic gray?
