70 Corvette selling price?
I have a 1970 StingRay T-Top Corvette. Numbers match, but needs a lot of work.
Needs to be painted, new interior, and complete overhaul. Drove it maybe 15 years ago and it had a vacuum leak, parked it in the garage and the fuel pump went, and its been sitting in the garage ever since. Any ideas on asking price? Its automatic transmission. Small block engine. There is a little rust on the frame by the back tire that can be welded. No body damage. The car in the pictures looks to have an automatic transmission rather than a manual.
1970 is a short run year so that can make them desirable. I think the frame rust you mention amd that shot of the A pillar rust are the biggest issues. Complete restoration and some obvious rust repair, I would hit the car at $3,500 in it's present condition. Greg |
Looks like a complete car so if someone was to do a full body off restoration versus parting it out it would make a nice project. With that said the price should be in the 3k to 4k range I feel. This car would need a lot of work and money even being done by ones self. I would be interested but have too many projects as of now.

I’m betting the suspension needs some TLC too. There’s no shortage of base level vettes in this condition between 68 to 72. From what I’ve been seeing this last year or so I think you stand a good chance at getting as much as $3,500, a bit more if it was a 4 speed manual transmission. |
From what I see and read, it may be more valuable as a parts car. $3k to $5K as it sits.

Check completed ebay sales, advanced search, items that sold, sales amounts are the numbers in green.
I see projects like this some in worse shape for 5 or 6. IMHO, I think you could get 5 or 6 for it. I would make a list of all of the issues, get a knowledgeable person to help you identify frame and birdcage rust condition, put it on ebay with honest "good, bad, and ugly" description, and run a no reserve auction with the starting price of say 4500. Run a 10 day auction and if nobody bids, then you have a bit of feedback maybe too high. If you guess too low at 4500, somebody will bid it up. Good luck to you with whatever you decide. And if you could get it started with some nominal effort, check compression, that would be a plus. |

base engine coupe, needs everything, with rust. rusty frame usually means rust at the other usual spots. hard to find someone to take that on since a base engine coupe will have a pretty low price ceiling compared to the more desirable optioned cars.

Man, this car needs everything, motor work, paint, interior, suspension...lotsa dollars to get the car back to its heyday
